Altrincham FC First Team / Re: ...and so it begins...

I want the club to at least put up a fight to keep our greatest asset. Alty without Ryan and CCC would be a  very different proposition. Too many times in the past we seem to have let players go too easily. I know we can't match the spending power of bigger clubs but let's try to put some sort of message out there. I doubt if our attendances would hold up without the aforementioned players.

I think it's glaringly obvious that we need replacements in two areas. Jackson and Jennings were weak links yesterday and Dinanga isn't the solution.
Sort out those two positions and we are in with a chance of the playoffs.

Same starting 11. Would take a draw

Southend 1-1 Alty (Newby)

Is this the first thread that has originated in the Gambia?

Where's your proof of this claim though?

For all we know, you might just be hiding out at an Airbnb in Adswood.
Don't ask him where he comes from. You'll get us all into trouble

Two things stand out for me.
Still that sense of panic at the end, we could easily have conceded another in injury time.
Also, what has Jennings brought. Newby has been a great investment, no doubt. All our best moves seem to pass Jennings by.

First time I saw him he scored a hat trick against us. Hope he hasn't lost his touch.

I'm genuinely surprised as to why we keep playing Dinanga. We're basically playing with ten men.
Surely there's better options. Wrexhams weakness is their defence, the only way we would have any chance is to go hard at them. Not really possible with the team we put out today.

Boston away in that FA Trophy semi final. Jeff Johnson scores a screamer to equalise late on only for Trevor Dance to shovel a corner into the net a minute later.
Followed by a nightmare journey home on the train.

If Boro had 'scored' that goal last season it would have been disallowed. Very timely change of the rules!

For me the most nerve racking part of the night was watching Duncan take his penalty. He stuck it in the corner like the pro he is though.

Unlikely they'll recover in two days. Could give us an advantage though.

I suppose one mans vacillation is another mans caution. Neither of which apply to Mark Drakeford at the moment. He's decided to try to bankrupt his country without having the necessary evidence at his fingertips.
The tories obviously haven't got everything right, but I prefer their approach to Drakefords.

Would you have preferred the match to be played behind closed doors then.

I think we've flattered to deceive this season and we're now being found out.
Hard to express how devastated I feel now.

Should make  Gateshead feel at home.

I was there yesterday and apart from the first and last 10 minutes we were thoroughly outplayed. As soon as I saw that our front two were Peers and Dinanga I was fearing the worst. No way they could ever hold the ball up and our best attacks bypassed them.
Strikers are certainly the last missing piece of the jigsaw at the moment.

Didn't Adam Boyes play for Guiseley around the time we beat them in the playoff final. He was a good player then but that was a good few years ago.
