What the taxman doesn’t see. Don’t seem like a dodgy bunch to me. 🙄

More likely to be a money cleansing strategy... in which case you can sleep at night...the tax will be paid for sure...plus "extra" taxes ;)

This is the history of football sadly

Doddie Weir's sad passing made me think of Mark tonight.

Its been a while since any updates....its not like I can type "hope all if ok with him or his family" cos clearly it can't be, but we shouldn't forget his suffering also and wish him and his family strength and all our thoughts.

And here’s a clip you might have seen from the 84/85 season. I’ve seen most of these but don’t remember this one.

Interesting for the younger lads* for the clips of the ground (and Alty town centre).

* they might not find it interesting to be fair 😂

I love the clip of Saint and Greavsie (probably also not interesting to the younger lads!). Also, note the wine bar advert in the Lincoln clip. And there was me thinking it was later they came to Altrincham...

First time I think I ever saw the SC**thorpe keeper knee John King in the nuts. I was there that night as a kid....saw King go down but hadn't seen what had precisely happened as I was quite far away.

Happy days !!

Makes me a little bit gutted it wasn't a larger raise, and also shows that the "No one wants to invest in a club like Altrincham" rhetoric was indeed such utter bollocks

Indeed. It shows there's an interest in a well-run club like Alty who do things the right way (though I must admit that such schemes go somewhat over my head).

Well they seem to have raised £300,000 successfully, so hopefully the funds will help a lot. Good initiative !!

How many seasons have we seen Alty start badly and actually do OK? Think of the Evogluesticksh*t league even.

Not being complacent, but hoping today is a turning point we have seen so often before at a similar stage in the season.

Luckily it's not just Alty who are exposed to this kind of nonsense ... all part of the game I guess :)

Absolutely , it get's stronger by the year , i really think it's time for 3 up 3 down to be considered.

Or, a more radical approach, but quite easy to justify...create "Division 3"

Less than ideal for Alty fans living in the Cotswolds

If you can afford to live there surely you can stretch to a chauffeur? 😂😂

Altrincham is one of the more expensive parts of the UK to live in also :)

So lets have a poll as to what happened :-

1. Hacked by Vics old fan base cos they are pissed off that we still have a club and they have SFA
2. Hacked by Maccs old fan base cos they are pissed off that we still have a club and they have SFA
3. Hacked by Russians in a special footballers operation cos our club is somehow a democracy and our new leaders talk to us grubby working class fans
4. Hacked by China cos Robins Retreat isn't a Chinese takeaway
5. Hacked by Trafford council cos we might trip over an old post that wasn't properly cemented down
6. Hacked by you know who cos of you know what

Send in your votes please

I am voting for North Korea obviously ;)

Not wanting to dampen the celebration of our last minute goal today, but this is a very surprising result. If you had told me before the game that there was going to be 10 goals, I would have bet my house on 10-0 to Wrexham !!

Can we all just agree that we should never, under any circumstances, start playing music when a goal is scored.  Of all the ills in the modern game that is one of the worst!!

Yes yes and yes.

Unless its Tournado of Souls by Megadeth, in which case its Game On :)))

Attendance 940 at the level is amazing. Credit to them. How many of us have been at ML with far less attendance over the years at a much higher level?

God, there's some miserable buggers on here.

Not at all. However, when I go to a football match it's about football first and foremost. I used to enjoy the half-time penalty competitions, the crossbar challenge, the kids games we sometimes saw. Music is a LONG way down the desirability list, and certainly when it's cranked up so loud that conversation is difficult. The three showcased musical offerings on Saturday ? The first one wasn't all that bad, the last one would have been better if the singer interpreted the song better - but the one in the middle was utter sh*te, and if I heard it ever again it would be too soon.

Meanwhile, I might contact the Manchester Arena and ask if they fancy staging sport related entertainment in the gap between the support act and the headliners. Then again, maybe not - I can guess the answer.

If you enjoy watching kids kick a ball about at half time rather than listen to some bands that's definitely something a bit fishy

Think you're tiptoeing over the line there.

Yeah. Time to sink this thread.

I love thrash metal, but would never expect to be played at ML. We all have different tastes in music.

And to watch kids on the pitch at HT having fun in front of the crowd is better than any Megadeth gig (but only just)...cos we are a family club and this is the next generation which is important. And my son played football (kinda badly) at Hale United, but one of my pleasures in life was watching him try with his mates to achieve something great.

Anyway that's my opinion. Others may differ :)
