I've just had my tubes snipped and am in some pain, but I ain't gonna miss the AFCW game for anything.

Bring a cushion :)

If they do go under and no one buys the rights to show BSP football next season we will lose out a lot less than most teams.

That's spot on. It will level the $$$ playing field in our favour big time. Don't be surprised if this would mean some bigger clubs going into administration (combination of reduced crowds/advertising revenue cos of recession, inability to raise bank finances, lack of liquidity generally meaning less equity financing also available, and now this)

Oops - forgot about Tamworth. Agree Southport would be a good promotion choice for us :)

Altrincham FC First Team / Next Season

Should be a cracker for us.

On the one hand Vics are probably down, which is a shame, but Wrexham have failed to go back up, and who can forget the fine crowd they brought early in the season (plues the 'easy' 4 points they gave us :) )

In addition, Chester should also be a cracking game, plus AFC Wimbledon, a team for whom I have a great deal of sympathy and can't wait to see at Moss Lane. The old Wimbledon were an inspiration to every non-league club till they went bad, and AFCW hopefully will do it again (although not at our expense!)

With the bigish crowds that these games should draw plus hopefully we'll get at least 1 televised game next season, maybe the finances won't be as bad as everybody fears?

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Name four clubs to finish below Alty

Why 4 clubs???

Based on recent historical trends, we only have to not finish in the bottom 3 :)

And it does not help when GH uses the "F" word when shouting at the players to motivate them. :o :o

I had my 3 year old daughter sat in the main stand not too far from GH. It is sad that at a family friendly club like Alty we heard abusive language from our fans and GH.

It would be stupid to ban swearing as everybody is entitled to free speech, but I am sure that Alty would have more support from people bringing their kids if there was less swearing. We need as much support as possible and the kids who get in free today are the paying fans of tomorrow!!
