Phil Taylor tweeted it from his own Twitter account. The journalist just read it and commented.

Agreed. The current management trio should only be a stop gap, though I worry that sentiment may play a part again.

That's not news, this board and particularly the Chairman gave no respect for the views of supporters.

Before we worry about planning and signing players for next season, we need to find a manager first.

Harvey got sacked because the majority of players thought he was a nob and the training sessions were a joke.  To the exyent that they were better under Youngs reign.  Sacking him was fully justified.

It doesnt matter one jot who sees it out to end of season we are going down.

MD needs to prove himself as a manager and yesterday did him no favours.  Playing Goodall is last resort gear and pout McDonald up front is a farce.  Most of the players with the exception of Hannigan (who was excellant)  &  Reeves (who didnt touch the ball)  were dreadful.

Interesting what you say about training sessions, can anyone remember who was Jim Harveys Assistant Manager and would presumably have had a lot of involvement?

10 or so games really isn't enough to turn round a team which is irretrievably fooked.

It's more than enough to find a formation.

Jim Harvey signed utter rubbish. We're rock bottom and just lost away to one of the better teams in the league.

Maybe it's time we all stopped believing we've got a god given right to be in this league and started getting real. Clubs like us go up and down, this time the down is longer. I've given up blaming people, I'll stick to supporting.

I think we all got a bit deluded with our penultimate season in the conf believing we had a divine right to be a top non league club. We don't, we're average sized at best this season with a fanbase dining out on former glories. Just accept it and get on with the fight.

Clubs do not get relegated or go on a downward spiral by accident, our last period in the doldrums (the long stay in the Unibond leagues) was for financial reasons, however our current downward spiral is purely due to incompetence by both Chairman and subsequent managers. We don't have a divine right to be a Conference National league club, we definitely have one to be in Conference North, given our debt free status, fan base, sources of income (yes, the CSH), wealth of town and although not always relevant our history. We are a top 8 conference north club these days, financially )and should at least be a yo-yo club until we get bigger backers and there certainly shouldn't be 21 clubs better than us in Conference North. I'm guessing you haven't been a supporter for long, but believe it or not this club existed before Grahame Rowley and the current Board arrived at the club and it will exist when they finally decide to get their coats and leave. As a supporter for over 25 years, this is our lowest point in my time.

In my view, Jim Harvey has been treated dreadfully, purely to take the heat of the Chairman - will he sack Doughty and Heathcote if they only win 1 league game in 10, I very much doubt it.

We will soon be playing at our lowest ever level

And who knows maybe we don't have the right to be at that level either

Whythenshawe park anyone ?

We were at that same level in 2003-4 when we scraped into Conference North with a streaky win over Runcorn in the last game of the season.

Of the other 22 teams in that division, 15 are still there, or have either fallen further or gone to the wall.

Things still have some way to go before we can say worst ever.....I just wish I had confidence that we can avoid that ignominy.

We have never played at that level before (7th tier) when we played in the Unibond league it was the 6th tier, on par with where we are now. So Wayno is right, the Rowleys will be taking the club to its lowest level - Great work!

I think it isn't the time for this. The board have made mistakes but not in the last few weeks. Time to get behind the team, buzz deserves a bit of time.
There have been numerous times when the board should have been questioned and considered their positions this year, sacking Jim Harvey could well prove to be a mistake in the long term, we'll maybe never know. Buzz will get time because we are a family club and the board will support him regardless of how well he does. For me they need to get an experienced manager in to start planning for next season, if we haven't taken at least 3 points from FC United and I don't mean GH. He wasn't the answer 6 years ago and he certainly isn't now. Jim Harvey should have had that opportunity - but Rowley sacked him to deflect any negativity towards him.

Jim had ten or so games fella.....................3 points away at a very poor Stalybridge and no sign of improvement from the NY team.........what you on?
So how many games will you give Doughty?

A terrible decision imo, Rowley has done it to deflect criticism from him that had started up again. How many managers does he want? Surely it's time the board looked closer to home where the real problem lies.

149
Surely, the purpose of Altrincham football club should be to have a first team that competes at as high a league as possible with the aim for continuous improvement. Or is that different for GRFC?

150
Why would a board who propose to have the best interests in the football club and by usual extension first team hold a strategic review and ask the question: "What is the purpose of Altrincham Football Club?"
