Why did you watch Alty for 10 years and then turn into a Salford fan?

The irony is that it's the anniversary of one of our greatest moments as a Club, whilst today was probably one of, if not the lowest point in footballing terms. What a legacy the Board are creating.

I think the chants were aimed at the Board and management team rather than the players. Rose tinted glasses are also counterproductive but you're entitled to your opinion. We mustn't forget the Club's thriving.

I think relegation could be a real turning point in the clubs future,no longer a football club ambitious and fighting to be as strong as it can but a social club at the centre of a disparate and much changing community.  When the core who have traveled miles home and away have gpne, what is left is occasional drifters and very local football.
sad sad times.  I hope that isn't the vision of this thriving football club
This is an excellent post and a very threat. It's up to board and us supporters to make sure that this isn't allowed to happen.

It was more honest and real than the ones from his boss

Giving Doughty the job would be crazy, an experienced manager would know their reputation already. Whether we can afford them or whether they would want to stay are different things.

I'd keep Buzz as boss and get him to find out which of the 6 or 7 decent players (Jones, Clee, Hannigan, Patterson, Miller etc) would be up for a promotion battle next season. I'd definitely play the kids who appear to have given it a bloody good go at Macc. The rest, I just wouldn't select at all now. The likes of Goodall, Moult, Lawrie and Reeves have just let us down this season. Can we just be f**king bold for once?
Why would you keep Doughty, he's featured in 3 of our worst ever management teams? We need an experienced man at the helm, not someone who was a decent left back for us a few years ago. If the club is going to try and get back to anywhere near where it should be then we need to get serious.

Once relegation is confirmed, a new manager should be brought in with the target of promotion and be given the budget to achieve that. If the board are staying then they need to pull their fingers out and sort the mess out.

Hednesford charge £12 Seating and £11 Standing. It makes sense that we fall in line with them after all we need stay competitive. Other income streams will be reduced also.

No, its Southport that are buying a player from a League 1 club.

No real issue giving it them to the end of the season officially. It's here nor there in the scheme of things, and it's not like we've made any effort to look elsewhere.

Get the season finished and then hopefully let a new chairman appoint their own manager in the summer for next season - who should be recruited with an emphasis on getting back into the Conf as quickly as possible, not just back to this sh*t league.

The board won't go.

I would have thought it fairly safe, and reasonable, to assume the position of the current chairman/board to be completely untenable should we drop to the lowest level in our history. Particularly given we will have suffered such a misfortune during a period of relative financial stability.
Hence, I think the appointment today is a fairly sensible move, and I don't think any footballing decisions for next season should be taken until the off-field set up is confirmed.
Matt Doughty was appointed because the Board clearly had no other options. No offence to him, but I'm not sure what he has done to deserve it - he is a former player and had 2 unsuccessful spells as Assistant Manager. However it looked very much like Graham Heathcote was in charge yesterday, but who knows. I'm not sure which game he was watching yesterday, but I wouldn't have described anyone's performance as "Outstanding" and we certainly didn't look more organised in the first minute. I can't see how he can lose his job, so in all likelihood they will start next season still in charge and the Board won't be going anywhere. There is no challenge to them and we haven't got an effective supporters group to show opposition so the status quo looks likely to continue for a more years at least.

I agree. What's also noticeable is that despite Rowleys plans to provide better communication and reduce the gap between the club and supporters that he has failed miserably. We only hear from him when he's sacking a manager, where are the calls for new business involvement, plans for the future, what's happening with the manager situation?

To be fair he was just commenting on what was said by our club official.

Is there any update on a new supporters club? It's important that we have a voice to counteract the rose tinted views of club insiders and express how unhappy many longstanding supporters are of how the club is being run. It's a football club not a Darby and Joan Club.

From the man himself:

"Reports that Altrincham FC is dead are very premature. THE CLUB is thriving. First Team having a struggle but Club strong" 1/2
