I thought FGR a  very strange place with strange locals...

I've seen more atmosphere on the moon

As for the t**t deciding to walk the diagonal when he got sent off, a complete and utter tosser.

Altrincham FC First Team / Red & Yellow Cards
« on: March 29, 2010, 09:38:04 AM »
Am I correct in assuming that after 31 March  all yellow cards that players have accumulated over the the season are expunged. so the chances of us getting any suspensions are gone unless we incurr any red cards ??

Also noticed Greg's reaction.

Ref was truely appalling.  The booking for Senior was just disgraceful - he slid in and hooked the ball away before their lad arrived and triped over him.  He gave one free kick against Big John who had just stood their and let the defender head it down to his feet, absolutely baffling.

On the way to the car an FGR fan going the otherway said "If it's any consolation ours was never a penalty, he just fell down like a great big prune."  You could tell from the players reaction that it was never a pen.

Their right back was awful, the people I was sat with were laughing every time he got the ball and passed it into the stand.  They gave him man of the match!  It was a most bizzare afternoon.

I thought we played pretty well, Denham in particular showed some good touches.  We clearly tired in the second half.

Best wishes to their keeper who went off with a bad looking injury.  The steward said his upper gums were all hanging down and I can believe that seeing the state of him.  It occurred in the build up to what would have been the equaliser and in th emidst of giving the liner and ref grief for the off side decision we all stopped to give him a standing ovation as he staggered off the pitch before returning attention to the ref.  Are you listening Wrexham?  Even in the heat of being denied an equaliser that late against a team we really wanted to beat we still know how to behave - very proud to be Alty tonight - well done all

Agree with all of that.......particularly the decision to book Chris Senior, which was one of the poorest decisions I have ever seen!

Thanks for picking up my son & his mates on the hill & ensuring that they weren't 15 minutes late............despite arriving at the ground at 1.30pm :-[.The youth of today.......what are they like ???

I bet they were glad they didnt have to cycle up some of the hills around the ground ...

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: standard of refereeing in this league
« on: March 27, 2010, 11:35:07 PM »
I totally agree with you Cornishrobin... I realise that junior refs/Linesmen. have to ply there trade in the lower echelons to gain the experience. I acknowledge that they have to assess, and make split second decisions  but having said that, the basic decision making of a high percentage of refs in the BSP is alarming..

I realise that there are even more junior refs who post on this forum who would probably disagree with me but that is my personal opinion.

There are too many refs in this league who have an urge to be the centre of attention. Most football fans will agree that the good refs are the ones who you dont notice...

I do not see this situation changing anytime soon.

It took there player who was sent off, nigh on two minutes to walk the full diagonal of the pitch just so he could run down the clock (why else would he do that)? Moreso. Why didnt the ref make him go to the nearest touch line and walk round the pitch?

Why not use technology as they do to great success in Rugby league for instance? It also cuts out all the arguing from players with the officials..

Personally, I am all for technology. especially in the decision that denied us an equaliser in extra time today but that is a totally different topic.

PS     I liken referees to schoolteachers, They are always fkn right and refuse to listen to other opinions.
Any school teachers who read this >>> If the cap fits  ;)

The lead we had a half time, great as it was, was not really a deserved lead. I think we edged it, but not by two goals.
Second half we were pretty poor, but I put that down to the recent and frequent run of games against top sides, with a threadbare squad.

I was absolutely gutted at the end but at least the walk to the car was all downhill. I have to say that when we passed the team coach around Worcester (Geoff driving).......Mr Heathcote was not exactly smiling either !

We saw the triumphant Salisbury team coach leaving Kidderminster... I got the Mrs to wave her Alty flag at them  :D ;)

First point.... What a fkn Soulless place Forest Green football club is..

Just back home from the game (after stopping for a nice meal just outside Kidderminster).. ;)

Ok we gave away a 2 goal lead but it isnt the end of the world guys...

I thought today our slim squad looked tired in the second half and who can blame them for that...

I still say that our late late disallowed goal was NOT offside, the ref seemed to agree until the fkn stupid linesman decided to flag about 5 seconds after it had gone in...  I've said on numerous occassions that the officials in this league are generally poor, and nothing I saw today has made me rethink my opinion of them

Not a happy trip but let us not forget what has gone before today and enjoy the rest of what is left of a bloody excellent season for Alty..

At least the lads have a full week off to charge the batteries

Just think... Rooney and Drogba were rested today and they are the so called superstars of this game... Our lads will be at fkn work again first thing Monday morning

PS I asked one of there stewards what the average gate was at FGR this season.... His answer >>> Depends who we're playing... What a fkn numpty...

Cmon Alty.

The reply will probably be something on the lines of >>>>>

Unfortunately due to the population of Gloucestershire and surrounding counties wanting to watch the game tomorrow, there will be no room for any flags....Fans will be stood 10 deep waiting to throw their life savings in a fkn great bucket to save our glorious club from extinction...

PS
Pse make cheques and standing orders out to Mr C Peake... c/o Forest Green Drovers...

The emails he wrote can be seen here as there were leaked by one disgusted club...

http://ftgotg.blogspot.com/

At the time FGR were involved in he relegation scrap with us so us losing 18 points would save them.

At a time when other clubs were supporting us, including Mick Woodward at Grays who paid in excess of £20,000 for his top lawyer to defend us, he took it upon himself to email every other conference club but us and try and unite them against us.

Also at the time, the Conference were unsure of how to play it...so he threatened them with legal action which they certainly didn't want.

Perhaps if his club does go tits up we could all email him and see how he fkn likes it...

The way we have performed over the last 7 games I dont fear anybody who we have left to play.. Our boys can relax...

Its the teams we still have to play who have the pressure on them...

Rest assured, If we keep up the same standard of late,  there will be a few more points coming our way before this season is done and dusted

Cmon Alty

The target should be for promotion, until mathmatically gone,if results go ok tomorrow,we'll be three wins off a playoff spot, and with still having to play york luton and oxford, its still attainable however slight the chance maybe.

I agree, but just getting into a playoff position would be amazing. I'm getting really sick of clubs believing they should 'beat a club like Altrincham' and getting into the play offs would be a big finger at them all.

I reckon if we were riding high at the top of the league, certain clubs/managers would still say that
