Well I for one find this an excellent article, in no way full of glaring factual errors, ill-informed comments and knuckle-headed opinions.

The internet at its best. Well done.

Number of things.
What on earth posesses players like that, surely neither of them will get a good gig or a contract next season for anyone now. Bowler in particular could have made a name for himself but at 19/20 seems to be wasting his talent. Weird.

In recent times, we do seem to have been cursed with underperforming left wingers.

I give you....

Ryan Hevicon
Steve Torpey
Blake Norton

....and now Justin Bowler.

And James Olsen. And Stuart Wright....

Has there been a regular there since Kevin Ellison?

We've all talked about our poor away form this season (poor until recently anyway) but our home form against the bottom half of the table teams is remarkable. If we beat Stafford next week, we will have beaten every single one of the current bottom eight at home.
That consistency is the reason we have a good chance of staying up.

(And we've only conceded one goal in those seven games - we have a happy knack for producing clean sheets when needed the most)

Still incredibly tight though. The bottom two look gone and Cambridge are in big trouble, but no team in the bottom half can feel safe.

Must be a big temptation to rest a few players on Saturday, with the rather more winnable Stafford game in mind.

1491
Heroes, every one of them. What a tremendous result! Four wins from five games.

Just outstanding!

I saw that about a week ago. It's excellent. The director's an old mate of mine, actually...

On previous form, London Alty will be making an earlyish appearance at Kings X so maybe see you there. Details from the usual suspect.

I'm being cultured and going Novello Theatre to watch 'The Tempest' on Friday night so staying in London and aiming to get in Stevenage for midday if anyone is about.

1493
Yes, I imagine the Johns are practising their Hebrew chants as we speak.

Sounds good to me.

A good point, I'm sure our two jocko friends won't give a monkey's either way but the prospect of staying in Stevenage any longer than strictly necessary is not one to be encouraged. I say a train back to town then somewhere along Euston Road, Flyer for example?

1494
Good stuff. Are you going to watch the England match? 6.30 kick-off, so we'd either have to nip back to London sharpish. Or stay in Stevenage...

I shall be in touch Friday eve Leon. Plenty of trains from Kings Cross over to Stevenage.

1495
No, I'll be at Stevenage. But that might have to be my last for the season, barring Aldershot on the final day.

Yep, Leon, excactly what my old man said too. Grays look a quality side, like they always do. The old 'false position' cliche I think is genuinely true in their case. Would I be correct in thinking you can't make Stevenage Satd btw?

1496
My Dad's half-time summary is that we've been the better side but that Grays look a very fit and physically strong side and it may be a question of how we cope with that in the second half.

Having said that, Coburn hasn't had to make a save of any note so far.

Lord, this is going to be a long second half.

Just noticed that Weymouth's winner at Southport yesterday was scored in the 89th minute... by their goalkeeper.

That's got to give you the feeling that it's not going to be your season.

1498
You called it, Foz:

David McNiven and the Alty - like ships passing in the night.

And, of course they may recall him now that they seem to be struggling to score goals.

A great result, and a really solid defensive performance. WELL DONE to all the Lads!

That number has a certain ring to it...

any news on how many did make this 'pointless' trip?? :D

You could even argue the Stafford result wasn't a bad one because David McNiven got a hat-trick for Stafford - and he's on loan there from Morecambe! So for today we're pretty happy he was off scoring goals for someone else.
