This is the sort of thing that happens to Alty ALL THE F-ING TIME!

Some slight confusion about who's saying what here...

Even Droylsden can't concede goals before the game starts...

5.15 Kick-off at the Butchers.

Bugger!

Well, elsewhere looks good:

York 1 - 4 Histon FT
Stafford Rangers 1 - 3 Forest Green FT
Weymouth 2 - 0 Northwich L
Droylsden 0 - 0 Oxford Utd

Well done Droylsden!

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Well done Graham & Dalton

Brilliant stuff yesterday. The way we contained Crawley and restricted them to only one or two actual chances was down to the hard work of the players but more particularly to Graham and Dalton winning the tactical battle. Colin Little confirmed this afterwards - the management had told the players exactly what to expect and exactly how to deal with it.

I thought the performance of our back four in particular was simply outstanding yesterday. I hadn't seen Shotton before but he does indeed look a hell of a player and I'm pleased to hear that Graham's hopeful of extending his loan. And Tinson produced exactly the kind of commanding, canny display we've seen so many times when he's been playing for the opposition.

I also think that, thinking back to last season, to have got an away win relatively early in the season will be a huge boost for all our remaining away games.

Oh and one other thing - it was never, in a million years, a penalty. Tinson won the ball cleanly. The referee was on the edge of the centre circle, so quite simply guessed - he couldn't have seen it. I'm amazed that some Alty fans think it might have been a penalty - even the Crawley fans knew it wasn't.

It's pretty risible that the Conference has only just realised they need to schedule some play-off dates...

Perhaps that bloke who cycled up from Cambridge for the match a couple of weeks ago can try again for Alty v Histon on a Tuesday night?

Looking at the original fixtures, York were due to play Salisbury on the last Saturday and Farsley the penultimate Saturday but have now moved both games.

So maybe we'll be at Weymouth on the last day of the season (26th) and be at home to Histon the midweek before?

From Confguide:

York City have been informed by The Football Conference that the end of the season has been brought forward in order to accomodate the end of season play-off dates. City will now play their final game of the season on Saturday 26th April when they travel to Salisbury. The home fixture against Farsley has been moved by The Conference to Tuesday 22nd April.

The changes will apply to all clubs in Blue Square Premier, Blue Square North & South divisions and it is hoped to announce the dates for the play-offs and end of season finals shortly. The Board of Directors of The Conference have apologised for any inconvenience this may cause clubs and supporters and hope that the early notice will minimise any disruption.

If you're going to call for a reality check, then at least pay a little more attention to reality yourself. We got six points from the 9 corresponding games last season (we did win one game, beating Grays, and drew with Aldershot, Halifax, FGR), compared to three this season.

It really is time for a reality check. Who would come in and do a better job than GH with the lack of money available? We are a part time team in a full time league. Before the Cambridge game, we only have 1 less point from the 9 games than we had from the corresponding 9 games last season. We did not win any of those 9 corresponding fixtures last season. This just goes to show what a tough start to the season we have had. I still, strongly, believe that we will get our first win on Saturday, and things will start to roll from there.
Whatever happens, GH has earned the right, in my opinion, to see us through this tricky spell and he will do. Any change would be a backward step and would see the club much worse off. Why do we have such short memories at Alty? Look at where we were 5 years ago, and what we have been through, and it is a miracle that we are still here at all, let alone punching above our weight in the Conference National.

I think this is a sensible move given that Karl is missing for three games.

But I really hope Stephen Rose starts some games now - I thought he was excellent for us last season and is very unlucky not to be a regular.

A superb point.

Well done to the lads - great to see us pulling results like this out. The last three games have given us grounds for optimism - we just need that win now.

You're Chris Lane
You probably think this song is about you.
You're Chris Lane (Chri-is Lane)
I bet you think this song is about you, don't you?

etc.

And on the subject of songs, I really think its time to come up with a song for Chrisey Lane! 8)

How about:

Northwich Victoria
South Shields or South Liverpool
Eastwood Town (have we played them? - if not then 'Orient'!!)
Struggling for West!!

Eastbourne Borough, surely.
