Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Should we have been on live tv?

there playing rochdale. IN ROCHDALE could have just satyed in manchester for 2 nights (the fans could have made a session of it while they were at it)

If the game had been televised, it would have been on last Thursday, not tomorrow, so it was the D&R game it would have been close to, not the Rochdale one.

Hugely disappointing that they didn't want to move the game from our point of view but if Luton felt it would harm their prospects on the field, I kind of think that's fair enough. What is galling though is that their directors were aparently banging on about how desperately hard up they are and then they go and turn down £37000.

He'd estimated the crowd as 3000+ before the official figure was released - not sure which figure's right to be honest.

BF said it was 3397.

Peyton on for Densmore. Not sure how that will have affected the formation - I presume we were back to the old 3-4-3 to start with.

No Waterfall i see

I'd guess he's gone back to Tranmere, since the initial one-month loan is up and we've now signed Jamie Smith.

Anyone got the commentary working?

The Luton game will not be on the telly then:

Two replays, not a single non-league side featured.

An absolutely ludicrous and baffling choice. But we still have hope:

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Harford's post match comments
« on: November 09, 2008, 03:29:09 PM »
I think the ignorance of Mick Harford's comments partly explains why GH and GB were able to complete such a total tactical victory yesterday - when was the last time we conceded fewer chances to a team away from home? The first priority in a game like that is to keep a clean sheet and we did that superbly.

Great credit to the management and the players for yesterday. Not many of us would have picked Warren for the game, I'd suggest, but I thought he did a really god job on containing their right-back and Densmore was similarly influential on the right. Tactically it was spot on and I thought we defended really well. Andy Ralph didn't have a lot to do but I thought he looked confident and composed. I also thought the subs worked out well and meant we looked the likelier side to grab a winner.

I can't see any reason why we can't win the replay. Luton looked to me no better than Oxford, Ebbsfleet, Mansfield... We've got to have a chance of the game being on TV, surely, if ITV/Setanta follow the usual formula of picking a non-league team at home to a league team. There's our cup history, Luton's recent problems, the fact Luton are still a relatively 'big' club for this level. The only reason they might not pick us is the possibility of Luton's fans using it as an opportunity to protest against the FA. It'd be a shame to miss out though because, whatever happens in the Alty/Luton and Southend/Telford replays, I can't see that round 2 game being televised.

Absolute no brainer.

James Black.

I think this is extremely unfair. What about gunners11? We have real strength in depth at Alty these days.

Can I sincerely wish Histon every good fortune with their promotion bid this season? There is no team I would like to see in League Two next year more than them.
