What about the abuse coming from the stand aimed at the officials?

I think you will find that was originating from Brian Flynn....!

I do hope that Marcus won't be singing Way Down this evening, as it could upset some of the Alty fans present in the audience...

Thornley has done some great things for Alty but, alas, he just isn't half the player he was and is not the answer at this level.

I certainly don't enjoy writing that...but we simply cannot afford to allow sentiment to affect judgments if we are to have any realistic chance of avoiding relegation this season.

Rod is a proven goalscorer

I'm sorry....but that's nonsense.

Thornley scored goals in the Unibond and Conference North leagues....but is certainly not a proven goalscorer at this level.

I have to echo some of the above comments because that was utter drivel today.

For me, only Acton and Lane emerged with any credit.

At present, opposition goalkeepers may as well bring along their pipe, slippers, an armchair and a copy of The Daily Telegraph sports section, as they are simply being given nothing to do.
Not one meaningful shot on goal and a total dearth of creativity.

The classic formula for relegation is a leaky defence and an inability to score goals.
At present, we fit this description perfectly.

Woeful.

Never let it be said that our Clubcall man is out of touch with the kids.

Ecky,

I think that you may have got the wrong end of the stick here.

Mister Flynn is actually attending the annual Leeds Festival of Morris Dancing.

Only 8 days to get a defender or 2..the clock is ticking

Don't worry Ecky, I'm sure people have got a list of left backs that are available and willing to play for the money we are offering to give to 'Cote tonight.

How do you know how much money we are offering then?!

Does anybody know why we always have 11 players back in our box defending?

All it means is that if we successfully defend the corner/freekick the ball just comes straight back as there is nobody up front to hold the ball or pressurise the opposition defender.

It also means that the opposition can have 9 players in and around our box. Surely it makes more sense to leave somebody up front.

You'll love the photograph at the top of John Laidlar's report of the game at FGR yesterday then....!

Clancy? I could cope with Andy Scott being our left back if he had a sister who looked like that.  :o
I don't think so after what the Hyde supporters said about his performance against Vauxhalls after he was subsituted at half-time.

Here's the quote from the Hyde United Forum:

"Another thing which no-one has mentioned which I think changed the game. If I ever see Andy Scott playing for Hyde again, it will be too soon, he was terrible in the 1st half last night, and a lot of the problems stemmed from the fact that he needed someone to do his job, meaning a central defender being dragged out left, leaving the other exposed. He was at fault for the first goal and rightly carted off at half time. We don't need another Howarth at the club, lets get rid before he gets the chance to do more damage."
