Altrincham FC First Team / Bring back Brian Kilcline!
« on: March 31, 2017, 04:49:23 PM »

Curiously, he omits to mention his glorious playing career with Alty at the start of the 1998/99 season during this interview in today's issue of The Guardian.

However, he does sound like he could potentially be a very entertaining guest speaker at a future Sportsman's Dinner event at the club.

Plus he could also hang around and join in with one of those walking football sessions in the CSH:

ROBINS' REVIEW

Altrincham FC Press & Media Officer, John Edwards, writes, "In his Edlines column in tonight's Robins' Review, chairman Grahame Rowley has a special message for the supporters who left the ground after 15 minutes of Saturday's Vanarama National League North game against Stalybridge Celtic.

Also in the Review, Shaun Densmore reflects on the goalless draw against Stalybridge, in his Captain's Chat column, while a legendary name from Alty's recent past makes a guest appearance for the Players' team in the What's The Score? predictions competition. The Robins' Review will be available inside the ground prior to kick-off against Nuneaton Town, priced £2.50.

Altrincham FC First Team / Robbie Lawton

Having watched that Alty TV interview with Robbie Lawton regarding the goalless home draw with Stalybridge Celtic, may I both thank and commend him for his respectful handling of that question pertaining to those of us who chose to participate in that walkout at 3.15pm last Saturday.

Throughout that entire interview, I was encouraged by his honest responses and refusal to hide behind excuses.

Frankly, I've been far more impressed with him in recent weeks than I have with Matt Doughty.

I confess that I am struggling to identify three or four times when we have been unlucky not to win:

Altrincham FC First Team / Jim Harvey strikes back!
« on: December 11, 2016, 06:11:21 PM »

As quoted in an article in today's issue of the Non League Paper:

"I do think that they (Alty) have acted hastily. I wasn't given enough time and that really disappoints me.

I think they should have allowed me more than ten league matches - I took over a team who had just been relegated and who had a poor start to the season. Things weren't going to improve just like that.

There are too many players in the squad who have maybe been at the club for too long, on good money.

I was trying to change things but when players are under contracts, good contracts - you can't move them on.

It's their club, the can run it how they like, but it's a shame because I felt I would have kept them in the league."

"Graham Heathcote has recommended the defender and I trust his judgement 100%, whilst the striker is wanted by a club who are in the top five of our league, but I’m hoping that we can persuade him to join us, particularly as he’s the sort of striker who puts himself about and is a natural goalscorer."

An awful lot of bizarre things have happened at this club in the last 12 months!
