Altrincham FC First Team / Injuries
« on: February 15, 2019, 11:34:50 AM »
I am guessing we won't be seeing Hampson or Harrison tomorrow but does anyone know the extent of the injuries yet?

Also where is Poole up to?

Any update would be appreciated.

Altrincham FC First Team / Need a keeper asap
« on: January 12, 2019, 05:09:47 PM »
Thompson is costing us points. He makes 2 or 3 mistakes every single game. My mate hasn't watched Alty for 3 years and thought he was terrible.

Their first goal seemed to go under him far too easily.

Second goal was him giving back the possession. I appreciate  it was in play for 2 or 3 mins after him kicking against their player but it should have been down their end.

Put Hampson under pressure with passes when he had players close to him.

How many chances???? It is becoming a joke. He is and has been awful Parkinson so I expect you to at least to recall Wynne.

White was terrible today. Gave his man 10 yards all the time. All over the park we need to get tighter, they did it second half and battered us.

We were hammering them down the right first half with JJ, then decided to go down the left all second half and subsititued JJ. JJ had one decent pass second and skinned his man, should have cut back in and shot.

Need to get more players in the box.

As I said before the game we need the right players on the bench.

Altrincham FC First Team / No loan move yet?
« on: January 12, 2019, 11:09:08 AM »
Very surprised there was no announcement of a loan this week.

The first eleven picks itself at the moment but there isn't anyone on the bench that can change a game.

Williams can come on to maybe tighten games up but no real attacking option which is a worry.

Poole had to go out to get fit, he needs games.

There must be players in the pipeline.....

Altrincham FC First Team / Poole goes out on loan
« on: January 11, 2019, 12:58:00 PM »
100% correct decision.

Wouldn't currently get in the team and before his hamstring injury he was carrying too much weight.

Gives him chance to play each game and get closer to match fitness.

Altrincham FC First Team / Thompson, winger and forward
« on: January 01, 2019, 05:22:08 PM »
I don't care for his second half save. The lad is full of mistakes.

I watched the first half from the side he should have been off his line for their goal a lot quicker. He's like a tank. Sick of mentioning his poor kicking or even worst...air kicking.

What must Wynne think? I am a fan of PP but he has become stubborn with him Thompson.

Let's just use Hinchliffe as an example , I have seen 3 of the 4 games against Stockport this season and he doesn't put a foot wrong.

A keeper is a vital position to have someone reliable and decent. It gives the defence confidence.

Defo need to look into another wide man as Mantack is most definately not the answer. Would be amazing to have either Dale or Hemmings. We need a player of their mould. Mantack is lightweight, poor confidence and has awful distribution. Plus we need JJ on the right in this league to open the middle of the park up.

We need some sort of backup to Jordan. Maybe a winger who can play wide or upfront.

For now we must go with Wynne and maybe Harrop out wide left.

Stockport are well drilled and organised. Their right back is very good, every game he has been their best player. They were much stronger than us, even though they spent a lot of the game on the turf.

We need a result and quickly.

Altrincham FC First Team / White
« on: November 27, 2018, 09:03:15 PM »
Whilst my positive vibe continues I am happily being proven wrong by Andy White. His recent performances have been brilliant. Loving his forward play, he is definately growing in confidence.
Teams really struggle with us when both White and Hampson get forward and support our wide players.

Altrincham FC First Team / PP and Neil
« on: November 14, 2018, 07:15:30 PM »
I know it has been said a few times on here but Phil Parkinson and Neil Sorvel deserve so much credit.
I just love how we play football. A friend who supports Blackburn came against Chester and hadn't seen Alty for a few years and he was genuinely impressed and is now coming against York.
I do tend to be harsh and pick the negatives but for the first time in years and years I have faith in the management team to pick the right team and they appear to know a decent player.
I do respect people's decision not to come down anymore but you really are punishing yourselves.
I would love to see some old faces get behind this manager and team.

Altrincham FC First Team / Harrop

Must be close to a ban?

Altrincham FC First Team / Daniels v Dale
« on: November 11, 2018, 12:24:19 AM »
The difference between each player is laughable.
Still some work for Dale but his desire alone would make me chose him over Daniels.
I hope we can extend his loan move,no idea how it works after this period.
Still on a high after today's game.

Altrincham FC First Team / Thompson
« on: October 20, 2018, 05:28:26 PM »
I am not blaming him for the poor back pass but seriously how does PP see a keeper in him. Absolutely awful and will not get better.
His decision making off his line is that of a school yard child.  Maybe harsh but he's had way more than enough chances.
JJ was poor aswell, no movement in him, there were many occasions he should have got down that wing.
The large pitch showed how slow Moult is and without Williams and Harrop they ran through us. Williams will be a big miss.
Poor second half considering we should have been at them. We need to be more confident at taking players on. Hulme can't do this alone.

Altrincham FC First Team / Atmosphere
« on: October 06, 2018, 05:07:20 PM »
Miles better atmosphere shooting that way. Makes a huge difference.

Harrop was outstanding but I would have him deeper alongside Moult or Williams. He just can't link up play like Hancock or Poole. Harrop is having a top season.

Hulme was unreal. Everything you want from a number 9.

Would like to see our full backs overlap more but I think they were told to be more reserved today because of their attacking threat.

Great graft by the lads. Really enjoyed the second half.

Altrincham FC First Team / Densmore

I may have missed it but does anyone know what injury Dens has and how long is he out for?

Altrincham FC First Team / We need more players
« on: September 08, 2018, 04:54:45 PM »
First of all, shooting the other way made no difference.

Without a fit and bombing on Hampson and Densmore we don't get enough forward or players in the box.

When those two full backs dart forward the wingers go inside, which results in more players central.

Peers for all his energy hasn't a football brain and often stands off side.

Moult has been a servant but he is far too slow on the ground. It's been like that since Colchester away. Got away with it last season.  Should not be captain, Hulme wouldn't be suspended if he was a decent captain ( even though Hulme is an adult).

Dale should have started. Again we need a striker, winger like JJ and MOBILE,tall and strong defensive mid.

4 subs at home is embarrasing

Altrincham FC First Team / Daniels and Thompson
« on: August 14, 2018, 09:58:38 PM »
If we let Miller go to fit Daniels in then it was a mistake. In three games that I have watched he hasnt wanted it. He must be covered in grass burns from the amount of times he hits the deck. He would have been through first half, I can't stand players who dive.

I keep repeating myself and their winner did come from a break down in play and no closing down on our right but Thompson should have saved it. It wasn't far off centre. I didn't mention the Southport free kick as I keep hammering him but we need a new keeper. Sorry to say this but he will cost us points.

We looked shattered against a poor team. We missed Richman and Hancock big time. Hancock is massive for us, he see's smart passes and also scores.

I mentioned it last season but let's get back to shooting towards the away end second half.

Altrincham FC First Team / Southport Match Thread
« on: August 05, 2018, 01:25:02 PM »
Keeper - no idea

RB Bannister (not seen him play but White RB worries the hell out of me )
LB Hampson
CB Goulding
CB Jones

DM Moult or Richman
CM Harrop ( Moult will play but if he ever did drop him then Harrop DM )
AM Williams ( bombing on )

LW JJ
RW Peers
CF Hulme

I am a huge fan of Hancock but maybe three in mid on Tuesday with Williams AM.

I am guessing neither Harrison or Hannigan are fit to start.

Dens and Poole still out.

I think in the really tough away games we should play Richman,Williams and Harrop. They would have a huge amount of energy to close teams down and Harrop can play DM.

Looking forward to Tuesday and there is no reason why we can't get at them.
