Altrincham FC First Team / Next season's squad
« on: April 27, 2023, 09:55:55 PM »
I was going to wait until the end of the season but tonight was shocking.

For me, this is PP and Neil's biggest summer.

To progress, we need to be ruthless and free up wages to sign quality. Far too much dead wood.

Need some bloody wingers, as priority.

Starters

GK

RB
LB E.Jones
CB Baines
CB J.Jones

CM Marriott
CM Lundstram

LW
RW
No.10 Kossy ( if he can get back to the standards)

No.9 Linney

Squad

Perritt
Hulme
Goodson
Barrows ( would give him another chance)
Byrne

Release

Kaja
Osbourne
Jackson
Bailey
Brockbank
Pringle ( Coaching role )
Gould
Cooper

Altrincham FC First Team / Wingers as priority
« on: April 15, 2023, 05:28:51 PM »
Need to sign some quality wingers in the summer.
Desperately need our shape back, with Kossy no.10 and Linney up top.
If Kossy struggles then loan Oyedele or Con-Clarke if we can.
I genuinely believe we are conceding from crosses because our full-backs don't have any support. Colclough and others would get back and help defend.
We've lost our way of playing and that is because of no wingers available. We are more exposed.
Other team's are doing us with their wide players.

Not here to drag anyone down,....
And I love Parky, but if we don't say sh*t, then we fail.
Subs.
Never does them or too late. Sinclair on for either striker, would have put us into the corner and stretched the play and we wouldn't be complaining bout 60 secs.
How many games do we try and see out......and fail?
I am behind us,but we must learn now

Altrincham FC First Team / FA Trophy QF York Away Match Thread

This is a huge game.
We need to approach United for Hugill and be starting him on Sat.
Guessing we can only have 5 loan players in the match squad?, so does limit the substiutes.
Would like to see Welsh-Hayes back at RB and Oyedele back no. 10.
Still feel we need to find our no.10 and we are very short out wide. Hulme does OK out wide, but lacks pace and the abilty to take on players. Seems the only option out right when Gysai isn't fancied and Kaja is always disappearing.
Byrne needs time out, costing us so many points. Need more confidence this Sat.

                            Gould

Welsh-Hayes J.Jones  Baines  E.Jones

              Marriott   Lundstram

    Hulme ?      Oyedele     Sinclair

                         Hugill

Subs : if we can have Hugill then my 5th loan would be Bennett on the bench. We don't have Hugill, then maybe Gysai for some pace and attacking threat.

Every player needs to be up for this, no passengers. Massive chance to get ro Wembley.

Altrincham FC First Team / Pringle no.10
« on: February 14, 2023, 10:30:29 PM »
No.10 is an important position in our team.

Cashman looked very disinterested tonight, albeit he was out of position for a lot of the game.

Osborne had a good game but he isn't good enough to make things happen.

We are better with two wingers on the pitch, so why not try Ben for a few games at no.10. He has never been given a proper opportunity, like others. He see's passes that other's don't and can't do.

On a seperate note, Linney looks very good. Strong and confident lad. Hulme is giving his all but I feel Linney would give us more of an attacking outlet.

« on: February 05, 2023, 09:18:08 AM »
Might aswell start it early, considering how important the game is.

I think Gyasi and Linney will be cup tied...?

                           Byrne

Welch-Hayes  J.Jones  Baines  E.Jones

              Marriott  Lundstram

    Kaja         Cashman        Sinclair

                       Hulme

Subs Pringle, Hugill, Quitirna, ( defender) & Oyedele/Osborne

I think we can actually have more than 5 subs

Altrincham FC First Team / Trophy live stream
« on: January 21, 2023, 11:32:01 AM »
Not wanting to discourage fans going to the trophy game and I am sure a decent number will travel l, but any plans to stream the trophy game to the Community Hall?

There was a large group of us planning to attend York away, who unfortunately have been put off Bracknell due cost and distance.

I reckon we could fill the hall, selling beer and food and make some extra money.

Altrincham FC First Team / Right winger
« on: December 21, 2022, 06:36:32 PM »
Newby is a huge loss, I was confident we would sign him FT.

Fitted our style play better than Mooney, clever player who scored us goals.

Just when everyone felt much better about our first 11 we receive another blow.

Jackson, Kaja just can't stay fit and I am not convinced either fit our style of interchange attacking football.

All our front players have looked much more confident with Newby. Linked up with Con-Clarke so well and got into dangerous positions.

Really important we find the right replacement as a matter of urgency. Con-Clarke is half the danger out wide, so need to keep him no.10.

Who is realistically available.....? I have no idea.

Would be good to see the below front 4 start and get at them from the off.

Assuming Toby and Baines not fit.

Too early for Marriott to start but hopefully give him 20 mins.

                                    Byrne

Barrows       Cooper       J.Jones     E.Jones

                        Lundstram  Osborne

Kaja                       Con-Clarke           Colclough

                                  Hulme

Confident of a win if we play high tempo and have our FB overlapping.

Subs : Marriott, Baines, Dinanga, Pringle, Jackson

Altrincham FC First Team / Fitness
« on: October 26, 2022, 07:07:54 PM »
A big improvement in recent games has been our fitness.

I wonder why all seasons, apart from one, we start really slow and sluggish under PP.....

Probably an end of season topic, but it must be something we aren't quite doing right in pre-season. Maybe we need to improve the opposition in our friendlies.

You can see some players firing on all cylinders ( Lundstram, Con-Clarke, Colclough) and others getting fitter each game.I am confident we will have a better second half to the season, if we avoid anymore serious injuries.

Still quality short in certain area's and will be a much stronger when we have everyone back fit. I listened to the Kossy interview yesterday, sounds like he is doing well, but doesn't sound like we'll see him match fit this season. Hopefully he'll get some game time.

Altrincham FC First Team / People's first choice 11
« on: October 20, 2022, 09:39:02 AM »
Out of interest, what are people's first choice 11?
Including current loan players, 5 subs and everyone fully fit.

                                Byrne

Barrows       Toby     Baines      E.Jones

                   Lundstram   Marriott

       Kaja               Kossy           Colclough

                              Dinanga
                         ( current form )

Subs : Hulme, Con-Clarke, Cooper, Pringle & Bennett/Osborne

If we had everyone fit and firing on all cylinders, I feel we would be mid table. That midfield would boss games.

I fancy us this Saturday. I think we should go more attacking with Pringle no.10.

                               Byrne

Barrows      Cooper      Toby         E.Jones

                      Lundstram    Osborne

Con-Clarke           Pringle          Colclough

                              Dinanga

Subs   Hulme, J.Jones, Bennett, Brockbank, Malone

Guessing: Kaja and Baines still out

Altrincham FC First Team / Goals
« on: August 16, 2022, 09:46:07 PM »
Been mentioned numerous times but it is a big worry where goals are going to come from......

At the moment we are weaker than last season.

Mooney gone.

Two of our best performers second of half of last season in Kossy and Marriott out for months. Kossy was bagging a few goals.

We need full backs who can be a threat going forward as it is vital to our game. Brockbank is currently a worry and Toby is a CB. Hopefully Barrows can be one.

Con-Clarke and Bennett are talents but I think we can only get away with playing one of them. Give Sami a few games out wide. Sounded a threat in the 10 mins he had tonight, not at all been given a fair crack yet.

I would give Pringle or Bennett no.10.
