Pleased for Parky and the lads to get through and have a bit of a cup run this season, our record in the Trophy has been far too poor for years now, so hopefully we get a decent draw next round and keep it going.

The extra funds should also help add to the forward line / new wingers.

Thought we should have been 2 or 3 up in the first 20 mins, to be fair to Wrexham their line-up might have not known each other too well at first, then again our forwards probably don't know each other that well either.

Pleased with our pens and the Ollie Byrne save, our record on pens not being clever in recent times.

"Pitch invasion" by the 12 year olds with no school tomorrow was daft, frankly.

This is reminiscent of the namesake series of cassettes, including Denholm Elliott reading TS Eliot

Good read that.
It has been ranked 4th most improbable FA cup win by the latest set of boffins who look at these things:

Hulme in for Newby and hopefully lundstram for Osbourne.

Alty 2-1 Halifax (Conn-Clarke, Colclough)

Get in!
Good effort sir!

Much better second half. We went up a level after Ryan got the equaliser, and Parky used his subs well. Ollie Byrne and the back 4 generally looked solid. Understand why Isaac Marriott got mom at that point, then came the great CCC winner, and he had a very good game up to that point as well. Deserved the 3 points, well done lads!!

Overall a deserved win and good 3 points but as others have said just seemed a bit of a subdued atmos and slightly off performance up front at times. We did enough to put the game to bed long before Eastleigh got their goal, just seemed frustrating that our forwards over elaborated a bit or just seemed a bit flat. Dunno. We did enough to beat Eastleigh but wouldn't have got away with it against a lot of other sides.

Can't grumble too much though as the defence and midfield are looking much more solid now. No longer shooting ourselves in the foot with daft goal conceding mistakes, so hope we can stick with this defensive/midfield line-up. Toby deffo deserved man of match and Newby had another good game.

Rather than debating why is he here / when will he leave etc. etc. another way of looking at it is, if we want to progress up the league we need to attract and keep more players similar to Ryan Colclough's contribution across other positions in the team.

Well done lads, much better. Great to have Toby back, we looked more solid at the back and full backs overlapped well. Eddy Jones did well for our first goal, found by Ryan Colclough and good cross for Elliot Newby who had half the York penalty area to himself, but still finished it very well. Newby and Connor Jennings look like decent additions with quality and experience and combined well to set Ryan up for the winner.

Still need to improve on defending set pieces again but 2 very well taken goals and the second half improvement was much more like a Parky side.

I did feel that a couple of times Ryan delivered the ball too quickly for anyone to get on the end of it. A bit slower it would still have beaten the defence but we might just have been able to get a boot on it.

Agreed and not just the Wealdstone game. The crosses are sometimes like cross/shots that are whacked across the 6 yard box, they are not that easy for any forward to direct or even get to

Looking at the replays for the penalty appeals, looked like Kaja was pulled down by the falling defender who only stuck his arm out to drag Kaja down, totally baffling referee decision. The 2 on Colclough looked like trips that most refs would give as a penalty. For the first of these the ref is on the other side of the penalty area with about 15 players between himself and the action, so he would have had no chance of seeing it, lino was closer but then linesmen usually do nothing these days. The Conn Clarke one looked just outside the box but clearly a foul, possibly a red card, to give nothing again bizarre. Not sure what it would have taken for the ref to give us a pen last night, very odd and bad decisions.

Agree with Parky's interview about the scandalous missing of chances but need to improve it.

Very frustrating night, bizarre officials and (other than Ryan) far too ineffective up front again. Will need to see the replays but 4 big penalty shouts turned down, post hit by Ryan and other chances missed again. Not surprising people were fuming after that.

I think most can see where we need improvements, we need more from the full backs and creativity from midfielders. Not getting that at present. CCC normally contributes with Ryan Colclough in the creativity side, but CCC was well below his previous levels last night. Pringle was tidy when he came on, but that might have just been relative to the other flat performances from the other forwards.

Good solid performance against not a very good Oldham side.
Superb strike to win the game from CCC.
Well done all, deffo deserved the win and nice to keep a clean sheet.  8)
