Very entertaining stuff, some of the goals were top class. Big contrast from the previous 2 games, as the forwards had much more room and were quicker with the shots and much more direct. It's clear the tactics were to get the shots off when possible and it made a big difference. Good debut from Dackers who took his goal well and linked up well with the rest of the team. All the forwards were very good though and some great passes from Osbourne again.

Other than the penalty I don't think the 'Dale keeper had much to do all night. Rochdale were solid defensively and took their chances well. Similar to the Eastleigh defeat, we had a lot of possession and naff all end product. When it gets to the forwards it is usually slow, ponderous and over elaborate. Basically no threat against well set defences. Rochdale saw our goal only a few times and bang, bang, goals and that's it, game won.

The stream was very odd in the first half, seemed like the camera operator went awol for a few minutes at a time and left the camera pointing fixedly across the pitch, whether the ball was there or not (it wasn't). Weird.
As for the game, well we certainly improved in the second half and looked like the only winners for most of it, but then another mistake giving the ball away cost us. I thought it was Newby with the poor pass, but might be wrong, will need to see the highlights. Earlier Eastleigh made a mistake and Newby did very well to create a great chance for CCC, but he missed a sitter and hit the post unfortunately. We do need others to step up more with the creativity as well though.
Linney looked rusty, not too surprising given the time he's been out.
Think the full backs defend well and that is by far their main job, with both RB options offering more going forward than the LB, who does a solid defensive job.

Decent game from 2 decent sides. Hard to pick a man of match, and wouldn't really argue against Isaac Marriott getting it, but blimey, Elliot Osbourne was superb yet again. Then you've got our 2 goals and CCC was absolutely superb in helping to craft them out. Very good all round and to see out a sustained period of Southend pressure in the second half without conceding a goal was a top team effort, topped off by the keeper.
Brilliant to serve up a win in front of the legend Mr Tony Sanders. Great afternoon!

Dominated possession and created a fair number of good chances, but just couldn't hit the target. Very wayward shooting at times. The Banks goal looked very good, but otherwise poor in front of goal. Agree CCC needed to be further forward.

Oldham defensively were good and we couldn't quite get through them, they set up not to concede and it worked on that occasion. So you could say a traditional away cup game set up and they're through to the next round. Not great to watch but it got the job done for them. Our forwards not quite at their best yesterday as others have mentioned.
A floater near me was moaning about lack of subs but we just don't have a strong enough bench at the moment yet to make a difference unfortunately. Linney starting up top and then a fresh winger to come on in the second half would have been ideal but squad not big enough for an impact sub at the mo.

Team I’ve seen at ML this season
They constantly caused issues down our right in the first half with there
Front three and probably and should have been two up before CCC fantastic

Newby a must for me PP make an offer they can’t refuse.

Could you narrow that down a bit! That could be one of dozens! (joking really, I think i know who you mean).
An entertaining game, agree we rode our luck at times (e.g. Aldershot hitting the post), but then again I thought their keeper kept them in it with 2-3 very good saves, especially from Justin A.
Looking forward to seeing the highlights as both our goals looked superb, Alex Newby and CCC have that bit of quality to make a difference, even when not always at their best (although CCC is getting a lot more consistent and was quality tonight).
4 straight wins is a great run, well done all!

3 straight wins including 2 away wins is a superb return at this level, well done to Parky, Sorvs and the lads.
Oxford did well for a fair period in the game, either side of HT, but Parky's formation change in the second half got us more control and led to the win.
CCC very creative again with 2 assists, 2 goals for defenders was good to see, especially for Eddy Jones who did very well to get in front of their defender to smash home the winner. Some solid defending once more at the back from Cooper and Baines, Ethan Ross has made such a big difference this season as he was decent again.

I thought they were a poor side. I was worried pre-match when I saw the team sheet. Most probably the worst lineup on paper in my Alty memory. Good to see Kricky turn up for a kick about and Ross done well again in net. Need reinforcements for Saturday as I think Ebbsfleet will be a stronger cohesive unit for us to overcome.

It was a bit of an odd game, draw probably about fair. Parky had to make the changes given all the injuries and previous game only on Saturday. Good to see CCC getting behind the defence again and Ethan Ross decent in goal again, also their keeper made a couple of good saves, so it could have gone either way.

Thought the radio coverage was much better yesterday personally. There was background noise from the close spectators yes, but much less buffering, no random annoying music interruptions, and for me at least, it went on right up to the final whistle.
