we had back luck today, losing ryan so early and the tom de not have a chance to warm up before his first touch.

Bad luck for Ryan but Tom has to come on switched on. Bad misunderstanding with Sutton but he still has to do something to put their forward under pressure. He never looks interested in marking anyone as far as I can see. I'm afraid I've lost patience with him.
.

I mean, I love strikers like Solskjaer who are always harrying defenders, but realistically, for a part time NL club, having a bit of an eye for goal and getting into good goal-scoring positions will often be enough to get you a game (remember "Landon, 89"?).

As for the Hampson second yellow, I eem to remember that the commentary team had it down as retribution for an earlier incident by a BW player. I didn't realise it was a Hampson foul at first either. I suppose commentators will always make mistakes, same as players.

Most definitely another reality check.
Poor start today
Poor team selection
I don't think the Colclough injury and Hampson sending off counts as team selection!

Alty were well on top before the injury (admittedly that was for about 2 minutes...)

Not the only "furlough"-related one, I'll be bound. Inevitable though. Same as 'keepers pretending to be injured to relieve a spell of pressure - at least until the rules are changed to stop it, I'd like to see an automatic corner or something to the other team if the referee has his suspicions, though it may prove unworkable.

On some of these Scottish islands, "A" roads are single track roads with passing places!

I suppose there may be some doubt now though about whether the "pure" pyramid (1-2-4-8-16) will still go ahead - which would be a pity, as it would have made it easier for North East clubs to progress up the pyramid - look at how well Morpeth were doing!

I'm still not convinced that getting rid of emergency lanes during peak times is a good idea - admittedly not something one would have to worry about in my native Aberdeen!

But we're still not allowed to mention vaccines/Covid on here because it obviously has no bearing whatsoever on National League football 2020-21. At least for some of the "London" Alty supporters (and I do value your contribution to this great club, I just don't agree with you on trying to gag people like this).

Oh and I see Chester voted against continuing. At least they've learnt something from their history, I suppose. Too bad they didn't listen to Barrow fans when it mattered. And I should think York won't take kindly to being denied a chance of promotion.

It would be nice to know for certain if any players who were playing at step 2 clubs will become available and in what circumstances, and if the step 2 leagues will definitely bot be decided on ppg - and if so, what the cutoff is for ppg to be applied.

One can certainly hope that the vaccines are "great" (and the pharmaceutical companies are exempt from liability if they're not...)

But if they are going to put life on hold every time a new variant comes along until they have a vaccine for it, we could be here a long time. And the vaccine pushers will get very rich...

And if "vaccine passports" are needed to attend sporting events as has been suggested, inevitably there will be those who are unwilling to take these experimental "vaccines" and thus will not attend matches under these circumstances. We are certainly getting the hard sell from the pharmaceutical companies.

No vaccine passports. These are not experimental vaccines. The flu vaccine changes each year. I have one every year, it's a doddle.

It may be a doddle, but the fact remains they have been rushed out, people will assume (probably correctly) that any long term effects can't be known yet, and of course, it has been reported that the companies producing them are exempt from liability. Some people will not take them for these and other reasons - I know there is reportedly a deal of suspicion in the "BAME" community for example. And I am only saying what I've heard elsewhere on vaccine passports (which I don't think can realistically be ruled out, and which would inevitably hit crowds to a greater or lesser degree).

You seem to have forgotten the location of your off-topic thread.

I suppose you don't have shares in a pharmaceutical company by any chance? You certainly seem keen to defend them, "London" Alty.

You want to trust the corrupt pharmaceutical industry, that's up to you.  But some people would inevitably not sign up to such a scheme, which would hit crowds.

I still maintain that it will be some years, if ever, until crowds ((which had been falling anyway) get back to pre-2020 levels.

And I still maintain that vaccines/Covid etc. is fair game as long as this nonsense is wrecking our season. I'm not the only one commenting on it as you well know. What about the person who said "vaccines are great" - or could it be that you just want to stop people expressing views you disagree with? I heard that's quite popular in London so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised

Could see a return next season!

I was slightly surprised though to hear some Wigan fans singing the "red red robin" song the last time we played them in a friendly. Looks like some of them haven't forgotten either! I remember the Neil Morton song when we played Wigan in the cup in 1994 but not much else.

Anyone else think that Barton’s trainer/kitman could be a young Fozzie ? !

 ;D

My favourite Fozzy memory was on the coach to Alfreton one Autumn and as we past an autumnal tree, Jamie Newhall said "I thought I saw Fozzie's hair go past!"

Kirkman Avenue takes me back, the boat I used to have was moored almost opposite Kirkman Avenue. The power station is now a B and Q (the last I heard).

Another match against promotion rivals - happy days!

Such is the strength of the team in a minute that almost any of the outfield players might score.

Slightly surprised there is no mention for Ceesay starting - a player who could easily play at a higher level in the future.

It is really great to be where we are, and one appreciates it all the more when one considers what has happened to our traditional rivals, Northwich, Macc, Witton and Runcorn.

Such a shame for Wealdstone - the best position they'd been in since the 80's, and joins Stockport and Hereford in a list of sorry sagas. To be fair, the jury's still out on how Stockport will do post Gannon, but it's hard to believe they'll do better with a new man.
