Sold out before I knew it was all ticket. What would  we do for the potential Charlton game then? i.e. would you be able to get in without a printer or smart phone, or are real tickets a thing of the past? And why is the capacity so low? People were talking 3 or 4 thousand. Oh well, I suppose I can watch on ITV. If we get through.

Perhaps our long-standing local MP could pull his finger out on our behalf. He’ll have noted how much our gates have increased in recent times I’m sure. Sure the Board will be pursuing all avenues of influence.

Maybe Charlton could give us some tips...

I wonder what the Trafford BC SAG (Safety Advisory Group) would make of Moss Lane in 1936?

Bloody pitch invaders.

I was watching one of those matches last year from the  Belarusian Premier League and it appeared that some youngsters had a kick-around on the pitch at half time, putting down jumpers for goalposts... a different world over there.

I suppose you could have members only, like the social club in Partington (or Luton Town in the 80's), although obviously I hope it wouldn't come to that. On occasions like Tuesday night though, it's very difficult to legislate for everything. I seem to remember a bit of aggro when Colwyn Bay decided to let in juveniles for free. And then there was that lad from Stockport (I think) a few years back who just liked streaking. It seems a bit unfair to hold football clubs responsible for society's problems. Short of taking robust action when such incidents do occur - as the club have done - I don't know that there's much more that can be done if someone the club knows nothing about just decides to turn up on the day.

Gateshead lost at Fylde today. Without doubt winnable but we are conceding far too many goals

Don't Gateshead have an unbeaten home record (not to mention our poor record there)?

Still, we should be alright, as long as there's no further nonsense.

Three defeats in eight days, albeit amidst some extreme and exacting circumstances.

Next Saturday's FA Cup tie at Gateshead now carries even more significance in order to avoid our season becoming somewhat derailed. There's the small matter of £22,629 being up for grabs, too.

Let's hope that the casualty list is reduced by then and Covid is duly kept at bay.

Can you pay on the day as usual at Gateshead, or do you need a printer or smartphone or something to attend?

8/1 now. Don't worry though, I seem to remember the England team get similar odds for most tournaments!

You'd have to hope they see us as a club they've invested a lot of time and effort into and have a great chance of taking us even further.
We too have invested in them and I'd hope that they'd be motivated to take us as far as they/we can get to - wherever that might be.
The grass isn't always greener elsewhere. Let's hope they see that and stay here where they're really backed and appreciated. I'm sure they will.

As I say, they'd probably taken Nantwich as far as they could go, whereas hopefully we can still go further (and have a plan to).. And after what happened to Jim Gannon, I'd be surprised if they wanted to take a chance on County, or indeed if County would go in for them after their last appointment. I don't know what's going on at County, but I don't understand these decisions they've made, and frankly it reminds me a bit of what happened at Hereford.

Lets hope so, I would assume he's not a regular at the ground.

Club could be charged with failure to control spectators I would imagine.. More unneeded paperwork.

You can't control this - unless you bring back perimeter fences, which is not going to happen for obvious reasons. I don't understand why  the league assumes you can.

If the league said that we couldn't postpone the game under those circumstances, that is ludicrous.

I read a story once about a Northwich game in the 80's when they were so short they asked some some fans who played Sunday league to sign on for the team before one match (though I suspect that wouldn't happen these days). As I remember, the fans played well and they got a draw!

Somebody should have kicked the gormless T**t's legs from under him. THAT'S performance art at its finest.

But not one of the players! Remember that off duty policeman playing for Witton in a Cheshire cup final?

As for kicking the ball over the fence, I seem to remember a story about an Altrincham ball boy at Canal Street in an FA trophy semi-final booting the ball out of the ground instead of giving it back...

Biggest crowd since that Barnet match? Went down as 3,000, but I think it's fairly well established that the real crowd was 4,501. As for midweek league matches - goodness knows. I'm guessing biggest since the 60's?

Ronny Rosenthal scored a stunning own goal once as well, in Liverpool v United of all games. What John King might have called a cracker!

I saw that. Looks like he's starting to fulfill his potential, and now faces a Lancashire derby on Saturday. A bit unusual though isn't it, loaning a player to a team in a higher league. How did that come about, I wonder?

Meanwhile, Duncan Watmore was less lucky, with a bit of a McGoonaesque miss! Mostly though, he's still looking good, just a shame about missing a sell on fee!
