Agree totally Joe was brilliant yesterday  :D :D

Thomsom has a good touch and a good first half!

GH now has a dilemma, a good one, there is now competotion for places upfront, which should lead to more goals and better play?

Pat, Rod, Joe, Peter and Colin are all looking better than a month ago  ;D ;D

Come on you strikers  ;D ;D ;D

I mean, if the ball comes to someone in the box, I'd fancy Rod and Little to score most, so I suppose 2 or 3 can be used as substitutes, or 1 in midfield as necessary.

Great to have the likes of them on the bench! And well done to Pat for his recent performances!

Best wishes Pete.

Get well soon!

I particually enjoyed this little gem:

Quote
Their goal was lucky, we were a man down and they managed to ramshackle their way through and score a tap-in. Our goal was class, a great free-kick routine and we're back in the game.

His reasoning seem to run along lines similar to this; their goal was rubbish because... er... it was scored by them. Yeah that's it. Our goal however was fantastic because we scored it and we're brill.

Our goal was a great moment for Pat. However I thought theirs was well worked, I suspected they had worked on it in training.

For christ sake

Praise you Jesus!

Of course, swearing could be banned, racist chanting was after all. Didn't Woking or someone do some sort of clean up the game campaign?

Interestingly enough, there was a time (some time before the 1960's I think) when there was not a lot of swearing at football matches. Are we any better for it? I doubt it.

Having said that, the main thing to worry about is threatening and abusive behaviour, such stuff is none the better for being said without swear words.

It's not big and it's not clever, but on many occasions, stewards probably have bigger things to worry about.  Unfortunate maybe, but probably true.

Rubbish! ;D

Only joking. I don't know how many men are on the car park during games but that would be my only real area of concern with various dubious characters going through there during games on occasions.

What could we achieve with 1400 gates?

We might actually outbid Stalybridge or Harrogate (or Fleetwood)  for a player!

I think we are due for an Alty annoyance, I think 989 with 40 FGR fans and one bearded clown who will do anything to preserve his clubs status at all costs

989, it would still be a lot better than last season. Shows how much we've come on, expecting 1000 against Forest Green!

Yes they are thankyou (especially the last one :). Although whether we can ever get in the league and play you lot again is another matter. If the unthinkable should happen (well it's looking unthinkable for this season at any rate, you lucky blighters) and Macc get relegated we should at least still be in the Conference waiting for you.

Altrincham FC First Team / Ian Craney
« on: December 27, 2006, 03:43:50 PM »
I am encouraged to see that Craney has been playing every game for Swansea and doing well. The transfer seems certain to happen now.

Is there any way then that Accrington can do us out of our money? If there really is a clause in his contract saying that if any club offers one hundred and fifty thousand pounds he must be allowed to speak to them, surely that makes it that much harder for them to muddy the waters by involving other players in the deal.

I know their first offer to us was derisory and that they were highly incompetent over Robinson, but will they really try and cheat us out of 75000, and more importantly, can they?

I would rather Sidebottom than some celebrity fans you get, think of the problems Exeter had.

Honestly, do you know any celebrity fan who does watch a team regularly home and away, especially in the non league?

I think coming to a few big games is probably comparable with other "City fans who have a soft spot for Alty".

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Alty deserved more....
« on: November 07, 2006, 07:12:12 PM »
....yesterday. We have come a long long way since our 5-0 drubbing last season. We deserved at least a point yesterday. The team was probably I think our strongest bar assa. But I was livid with Frank Sidebottom as he didn't chuck me a Kit Kat!!!!!!

Not with finishing like that! And their keeper did well when called upon. Still,  some of our football has been a joy to watch this season and if we carry on like that the results should come.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: no digrace losing one nil at york
« on: November 07, 2006, 07:00:17 PM »
only Clayton Donaldson (who was excellent even without having to use his elbows!) stood between us and a result. Last year, York murdered us twice and man for man were better than us in every single position. This time, it was just the one guy who stood out as being better than anything we had,
AltyBri (my MOM = Munroe, who easily controlled Stamp)

Donaldson stood out last season and this season, the guy's class to be fair and one of the few players in this league I would look forward to seeing. I just hope York don't lose him for nothing like with Bishop!
