« on: April 21, 2023, 01:19:59 AM »Just noticed one of our old adversaries, Stalybridge Celtic, have been relegated to step four from the NPL premier. Don't know how I feel about that (or if I care actually) but a bit sad I think. More sad that Nantwich may be joining them. Even sadder that M*cc are replacing them.
Some good and bad memories of Bower Fold; the miss from Danny McGoonah that confirmed (in my head) that we were going down, putting five or six past their keeper who visibly got worse and worse as the game went in; and watching a boxing day (or NYD) game when Celtic played Southport in bitterly cold freezing conditions. It was 0 0 when the lights failed on 85 minutes and the game was abandoned.
I miss the pub on the platform too.
I can't see them back at this level for many many years.

We had most of the chances & yet if there was ever a game to sum up our season they score from a pen & an over hit cross. Still the main objective at the start of every season of preserving ourselves at this level has been achieved which most give PP, NS & all the players a great sense of satisfaction in what has been an up & down season.
Now onto Torquay, will there be tears in the Scoreboard end come 450 on Saturday…?

I quite liked him when he was at Alty, but he was so damn frustrating. Wouldn't have him back though, we can do better.

Yep. Rochdale are done for, just a question of who is joining them. Crawley have a very favourable run in but Hartlepool are the clear form team. I can see Harrogate maybe getting dragged in.
I would laugh till I pissed my pants if Harrogate get relegated.

You’re not alone. Very odd layout whereby the away fans have to walk through Brookside to reach the turnstiles.
Surely not as odd as walking through the library, and past the indoor pool at York?
Fans used to walk through a cow field to get in at Cambridge.
