For me Ethan MOM,no coincidence that a top keeper gives confidence and assurance to our defenders,a very even first half, second half carried on much in the same way,but we were more
Clinical in front of goal, along with two top saves from Ethan.
Feels so good to be an Alty fan at the moment, I don’t fear anyone in this league including Chesterfield and Barnet.
Let this run continue.
Minute silence for Remembrance Day fully respected by all in the ground,as expected.

My thoughts entirely.

Sadly I suspect that the Main Stand will need doing from scratch before too long.

It has served us well for 50-60 years now and I am sure that the replacement of said edifice will be high on the club development priority list.  It has to be if we are serious about promotion to the EFL L2.

Is this me or what but we always significantly under-perform when it is a fiver game, a NL TV game or a larger crowd containing ultimately lost new fans?

I endorse what 'That Man' says in #31 and will add that overall I think that the best team lost and if we had put our scoring boots on we could have trounced them.  Their defence managed to stay ½ second ahead of us getting to the ball and they did this effectively by playing 10 men behind the ball for much of the game and thowing themselves in front of any strikes that we attempted to take.

it will be a different game at Boundary Park in a couple of weeks time in the league.  They are aiming to get into the playoffs and will attempt to play a more open attacking game.  We may take them apart if we are on form and revenge will be ours.

Regardless of whether it's lazy or not, I actually wouldn't mind if they just reversed the two colours on the away kit.
I like that idea

The all yellow kit with the royal blue sash that was worn at York when we knocked them out of the FA Cup before we went on to play Portsmouth is my favourite away kit of all time.

We looked majestic in that one.

Can you feel it?  I can feel it.

Maxi Oyedele: "Hey Gaffer, When can I go back to Alty?"

Gaffer: "How about at the beginning of the New Year?"

Maxi: "Cool, as long as I get registered before the 3rd Round of the FA Cup"

Gaffer:  "You can feel it can't you"

Maxi: "Yeah, I can feel it"

I would take him for the duration of this season as it would increase our options and could have a similar impact to Elliot Durrell when he signed for us.

Nearly a third of the way through our league fixtures and only two losses and those were against good teams who are both going well.  Come on Alty!!!

I think that the Alty v Oldham game has as much chance as any of the others of beIng shown.  It will be cast as 'former Top Flight Premier Leaguers meet former prolific record Giant-Killers'... no wait on... what Is this?... EuroSmakufussball.com have obtained broadcasting rights to the game.  EuroSmaku cater exclusively for the population of Tuvalu and have announced that the game will now kick off at 02:30am on Monday 23rd 2023.

Not that anyone here really gives a toss these days about our former arch enemy but Northwich Vics are on the move again.  I am reliably informed that they are moving in with neighbours Winsford United at Barton Stadium (used to be better known as a greyhound racing track back in the day).  They have signed a deal to stay there for 3 years with an option for a further year if they need it...

Just for the sake of a bit of extra clarity, this is the Northwich Vics who were formed in 1874 as founder members of the Football League Division 2 and once knocked Liverpool out of the FA Cup and not the imposters calling themselves 1874 Northwich who play in the same colours and also have'nt got a home to call their own. They were at Barnton last I heard.

Add to that that Witton Albion who at least managed to hang onto ownership of a ground (of sorts) that is in the middle of nowhere with no public transport connecting it to the town or railway station. Finally, I think there was even another team called something like Northich Villa (perhaps a nod there to the Roman past of Northwich) who were short lived and played their home games at the Etihad campus in Manchester.

I remember Northwich Vics as very worthy adversaries and it is sad that the combined attendances of the three clubs is barely enough to shake a stick at these days.

Think it’s worth pointing out in the interests of balance that most Vics fans of old from the days when we used to play them regularly, went over to 1874 Northwich who are in a higher league & get more fans then Northwich Vics too. I forget all the arguments but it’s my understanding that 1874 whilst not having the name would be more the true keepers of the flame for football in Northwich than their mire illustrious neighbours.

Sounds like a ring of truth there, Sarf, so I won't argue with that.

Biggest win at this level for 30 years I believe?

I contend that this on its own lays down real optimism for the rest of the season and I think is a credible indicator for rivals new and old to be afraid... be very afraid!!!

No need to say much.  I am ecstatic it has to be said.  Maidenhead fans need new Kecks. The breakthrough result that I have been hoping for.  A gateway to a wonderful season.  Stay Positive.  Come on the Alty.  Bring it on!

To be fair I've not had much of a problem trying to get served anywhere.
Even Northwich sorting office isn't bad.

I once had the misfortune to work there, not be it known, since it became a 'Spoons, but way back in the days when it was still a Post Office.  I usually worked elsewhere but got sent there for a few days to help them out because they were short staffed. You could see the turnstiles at Witton Albion through a gap between the buildings across the street.

I should mention at this juncture that there was also a lad from Liverpool there who had also been sent 'to help out' but it became very evident before we had even started that it would be a miracle if he managed to get through the day without offending the locals.  It was a Monday morning and very busy for the first half an hour or so, until eventually, the office was completely empty, whereupon, a Clergyman (wearing his dog collar and black cassock) entered stage left and made a bee-line for the Scouser who was closest in his line of sight. He then placed an envelope on the scales and...

Clergyman: "Can I send this letter first class and will it arrive tomorrow?"

Scouser: (Places hands together and closes eyes as in prayer) "Let us all pray together that our gracious God speeds well the passage of this holy message and for Cherubims and Seraphims to rejoice upon deliverance to... errrmmm... Bootle "

Clergyman: "I beg your pardon"

Scouser: "...and some fell on stoney ground"

10 minutes later, another customer, an OAP who wants to buy a Dog Licence.

OAP: "I would like to buy a licence for my dog please"

Scouser: "Is it a coloured or a black and white dog?"

A few moments later...

Scouser: "Name please"

OAP: "Rex"

Scouser: "Not the dog's name, your name"

OAP: "That IS my name!"

No Customer Charters or Mission and Vision Statements in the 1970s. Ahhh... the bad old good old days.

Interesting that the match previewer for the Hartlepool game on the official club website seems to be under the misapprehension that Tom Jones made his debut at Wealdstone!

"Young prospect Tom Jones, stepping in for the injured Matty Kosylo, emerged as a particular bright spot in a match where clear-cut attacking opportunities were sparse for both sides."

I look forward to seeing what he can do on the green, green grass of home.

My, my, my, I guess that it's not unusual for them to get mixed up given the number of Jones' that we have in the team.
