Two smashing goals and a point that we deserved, if not only for the never say die attitude that the team are adopting this season and the quality of the equalizing strike.

The commentators had only just revealed that Alty have scored 14 'late' goals so far this season when Newby's finely executed free kick added to the tally.

The Alty fans nearly all in fancy dress were at full voice and could be heard throughout the game.

We are going to be in 6th place for Christmas and a promotion and trophy double is still on.

Ozzies two cards were needless and both may not have been given on any other day.

It was a surreal moment for me when 3C scored the winner.  I was right behind the spot that the ball bounced back up into the roof of the net and all about me seemed deathly quiet except for what sounded like a low volume distant cheer. All those around me seemed shocked to silence in the same way as I was and the scene seemed to be frozen for a second or two before an almighty roar engulfed Moss Lane.

It was a bit like when a small section of the crowd cheer when the ball goes into the side netting because from their angle it looks like a goal only on this occasion the ball HAS really gone in.

All speculation as the club aren’t going to officially release the actual reason he’s gone but given he was deemed the best candidate for the job only 6 months ago (and poached from a direct rival to boot) its a very rum do...

...Difficult in such a short time to assess his impact but average gates slightly below the last 2 seasons & football for a fiver against Kiddy did not return anywhere near the gate we wanted I suspect.

Perhaps he was without a Plan B?

What about Congleton for a bit of payback?

Yeah right, and we all know how that one would end don't we!

According to a posting on their Forum we have assured them that we have effective covers on the pitch and the game will be going ahead.

I don't think there is a cat in hells chance that he will be leaving Moss Lane now that Parky has managed to tempt him here.

If he ever gives up football he has the ideal name to be a WW2 Spitfire pilot "Tally ho, Dackers, Fokkers at ten o'clock"

I know what my goal celebration would be if I was him!

I know I am getting ahead of myself but when would the playoff games be??

Wembley final is proposed as Sat 4th May.

If previous form this season is to be repeated that is the first of five league wins on the bounce.

I am still holding the optimism that I have carried since the early days of this season and as each piece of Parky's jigsaw slots into place I am getting more and more excited.  I have already been checking out prices of hotels within a reasonable distance of Wembley for the Play-off and Trophy finals.

We will appear in at least one Wembley final in 2024.  I feel sure of it. Last year was the equivalent of our 1976/77 team that came so close to reaching the Trophy final and so that makes this one the 1977/78 doppleganger.  I have to admit that we are unlikely to win the league title but we have shown ourselves to be masters of winning play-offs and usually by the hardest way.  A promotion to EFL2 and FA Trophy double is entirely within reach of this squad.

We might be needing a shop in the Stamford Quarter to sell all the Wembley souvenirs.

Generally well thought of wherever he has been and it seems that most (If not all) would be happy to have him back.

A big Alty welcome to goalscorer Marcus Dackers who I am sure will be soon knocking them in for the Robins.

Get in there Marcus we will be rooting for you on your debut tomorrow!

How did that result just happen?

However, nice to hear Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse are still as comedic as ever amid a bizarre five minutes twenty or so into the first half where there was no camera shot with the ball in view just random players trotting around as the action continued... somewhere.

Those seeking a prize specimen will go wheresoever the chase takes them and they draw no distiction between the old brickworks pit in Mobberley or the Ladybower reservoir in the Upper Derwent.

I'm sure there's a spell of poor form around the corner somewhere

I contend that the recent game at home against Kiddy might be as bad a spell of poor form as we might have this season.

The Scoreboard evidently agreed with me as it tried to remedy the outcome of that disapointing performance at half-time on Saturday.
