Can anybody get me the exact technical problems/requirements?

I can then make a few calls  ;)

The Football Foundation won't fund floodlight replacements, presumably cos their money is going towards the Olympics and cos floodlights aren't deemed necessary at football grounds anymore. That is the technical problem.

If you can make a few phone calls to the tune of £40,000 I wish you'd done it before now.  ;)

Right, we need to get a grip slightly, I'm not an A. Scott fan by any stretch of the imagination as anyone who watches games with me will tell you but it should be pointed out that he had an ok game v Exter (bearing in mind he's no Michel Platini) altho we got slightly overrun 2nd half, at St. Albans he had a good game, got about and used the ball well, his best game in an alty shirt. ven v g&n he got about and was not the worst Alty player on the pitch.

Slightly limited yes and I'd liked a better end of season signing but a few of you are getting into the mindset that he's poor and therefore he plays bad in every single game. The last three games he's been ok (ish).

i reckon you'll beat daggers easy. a couple of seasons back they had been guaranteed a play off spot so when they played fgr they brought a squad of second string players and we won 5-2.

Great, so if they were to rest some first teamers after their herculean efforts this year and play second string youngsters against us the Peakey would remember this and not be making a fromal complaint. Excellent.  :)

p.s. Please tell me it's not true that he was ringing up mithering Cambridge on Saturday trying to check up on D & R and whether they were playing a full team?

52 points might do it. However one of those 5 points would have to come at Tamworth. Losing there would be disastrous. If we go into the last game at home to Aldershot needing a win or draw they'll beat us at last. If we are safe by then we'll leather them!!  :D

Prior to working in the NHS, Mike worked for Grand Metropolitan UK Ltd and pursued early sporting aspirations, playing cricket for Lancashire’s second eleven and semi-professional football for Altrincham and Rochdale.

Rochdale in their place.  :D

Well its a good idea, shame their not doing too well, maybe just the trick to get their players to perform better. And raises the profile of their club. Whilst giving the board insight into how many fans would watch.

As for gate receipts, i expect southport be expecting around 2,500 - 3000, the extra revenues through sponsorship, merchandise, food, drink etc may well make up the short fall.

Its something our club should be doing, to try and increase the attendances here at moss lane. Even our club has made a 9K ops profit (more than a weeks wages). Maybe they have too??
[/quote]

it is not a shame they are not doing too well (Charlie Clapham). There will not be 2500 there unless the offer applies to York fans too.

I am also led to believe that Southports piss poor catering is seperate from the club, or that if the attendance is over 1000 the caterers get 80% of the profits or something like that.

The poor youngster in question now works at the McDonalds on Urmston retail park and watches Trafford. I've seen him at numerous Trafford games whenever I've ventured down there.

so you've been to Trafford games and found out he works in McDonalds in Urmston or vice versa Joseph?  ;)

BY THE WAY WE GET THE MONEY FOR THE PLAYERS IS BECAUSE WE HAVE A DEVOTED GROUP OF FANS THAT HAVE SET UP THE "GRASS" FUND.

I love that.

Are you raising enough money to pay his wages each week too? Crowds of 900, and to a larger extent this season of 1100  do not fund full time football clubs, if you think there's enough gym memberships sold to cover it the rockwool is being pulled well and truly over your eyes.

As we said last year tho, investment of the magnitude that some people have put in would disappear for good in the confS so it's no wonder Colin Peake did what he had to do. The pressure on him must've been enormous. He should have just said so, or at least included us in the emails.

p.s. Has he got onto the FA about the Accrington case for the good of the game yet? If he does so and proves that was his main concern I will take back everything I ever said about the man. p.s. you only have 47 points, it might be worth your while.

Key point there is that people who buy houses near the ground are other the moon because there house price is marginally lower than others in the area, due to it being next to a football ground. Happy enough to take the bargain but not anything that goes with it. It makes me laugh at how stupid people are, did the estate agent shut all the curtains when he showed them round? What's that there? Oh it used to be a football ground, it's only used for kids games now and that's only every 3 weeks nothing to worry about really! FFS!!! ::)

Altrincham FC First Team / Attendances
« on: March 28, 2007, 07:24:09 PM »
Alty fans in attendance thread shocker :)

For those of you interested in this type of thing, last nights attendance pushed us past last seasons aggregate with a game to spare. 22730 (ave 1137) from 20 games as opposed to 22006 (1048) from 21. Just generally nice to see a rise in attendances. Regardless off decent gates v Vics, Oxford and Southport I'd say we've averaged about 80-100 new home fans per game. In order to average 100 more than last season (i.e.1048) we'd need to pull in 3674 from the last 3 fixtures. Unlikely as Exeter will bring a few, G&N won't and it'll be our lowest gate and Aldershot may either bring loads for a party or an unlikely play off spot.

Last seasons lowest 688 v G&N, highest 1447 v Morecambe
This season 886 v Woking / 2330 v Vics.

Ahem, bollocks. Lowest gate (so far :-X is 829 against Grays last week)

Interesting to note that since 1986-87  this would only be the 5th time we've averaged over a thousand.

1986/7 -  1349
1990/91 when we were awesome 1385
1994-95 Maunders/Spurs year 1002
Last season 1048 and so far 1137 this year.

Just like to say in a none embarrassing ssort of way well done to everyone, ML is a cracking atmos, esp as because I'm a dawdler when I get around to the corner (when we shoot towards Chequers) I seem to have to stand further down the side due to increased numbers (welcome aboard Jim Fallon, hope you've enjoyed coming down and all others).

There's a pertinent photo in the sponsors lounge of a Unibond game where you can stand where you bloody like in that corner and it doesn't take long to identify the hard core. Maybe that was from the 2003-2004 Unibond season where we averaged 584  8) (A 94.69178% increase I think)

Think I remember this photo. It may have been to herald the arrival of the new Savlon tracksuits IIRC. Would prob have included, Barry Norman, Colin Broadhurst, Paul Leonard, Gavin Torpey, John Smart, maybe Martin Jordan and Phil Ainsworth. Sod it, if you want to scan it and put it on here I'll try and name the faces.

One thing about ballboying is that many lads that have done it have gone on to be lifelong and loyal supporters, albeit only John and Martin of that list could be included altho see Phil and Gav occasionally. Have we had any other luniaries on here who did it in the dim and distant past? Flynninho?
