Baggley is away with the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad.

He was an unused substitute for them against Lithuania yesterday and they are scheduled to play against Malta on Tuesday evening.

Instead of a Lads holiday, he should be here

Wouldn't Fleetwood be making that kind of decision?

I was joking

@Cult - How many players have we lost due to international duty?

I don’t know the answer to this but on a slightly related note we have lost out in the past on a bumper pay day from a televised game.

I believe our tie v Crewe Alexandra in 1996 was due to be televised but it was postponed due to Neil Lennon being missing for Crewe. To play for Northern Ireland funnily enough.

He played (excellently) in their eventual 2-0 win.

I think there were some other Crewe players in that team that went onto better things. Danny Murphy? Robbie Savage? Craig Hignett? Mark Rivers? Colin Little?

I think? I could be talking out of my arse here…

Guessing we're missing Bagley, Furman, Pringle and Lietch-Smith.

The incentive for both sides is huge, but we have too much for them.

                          Thompson

Senior  Mullarkey  Hannigan  Fitzpatrick

              Moult    Whitehead

  Kosylo          Hancock            Colclough

                       Dinanga

Alty 2-0 Gateshead  (Hancock, Mullarkey)

PP said that Mooney got half a game for reserves so hopefully he'll be on the bench.

Wasn't Pringle's red 2 yellows and doesn't that mean he is now available? If so I would start him.

I was just about to ask where we were up to with Dan Mooney. He’s been out key player this season

Edit: but good we’re starting to get players back and I’d start Pringle because he’s more settled into our system than the new lads if nothing else.

To be fair, to whichever bitter snake has been calling in the council, they’ve done a proper job on us

I must confess I did not like the ground much. Viewing was awful because of the running track. It was like watching ants running around busily at times rather than two football teams. I don't like football pitches where you are miles away from the action. Winsford United I think also springs to mind.

I also recollect the speedway track at The Shay when we lost 3-1 against Halifax Town in the FA Cup First Round back in November 1975.

Supporters of a certain vintage will probably also recall New Brighton's stadium, where the football pitch was surrounded by an athletics track.

Kirkby Town's former ground, Simonswood Lane (where a young John King honed his crunching tackles in the late 1960s/early 1970s), was another example:

What an incredibly desolate photo that is. Did anyone on here ever go there?

I believe there was a nightclub underneath that stand? Christ 😬

If my geography is correct then just behind it or at least to the left is Liverpool’s brand new £50m training facility.

That kit is superb!

Yeah...was gonna say...we need a retro version of that :)

Erm, it’s Morecambe’s kit isn’t it?

Not smart enough to provide a link but someone on the Stockport forum has said Parky has apparently applied for the job!
Got to be absolute horses**t surely?

While I wouldn’t be surprised if he did apply at some point , the idea that Rusk would be sacked at 11am, Parkinson would put together a proper football managers application and submit it within time for it to be received by the Stockport County hierarchy and leaked to a forum poster by 4pm is not a realistic timescale is it?

One other possibility this opens up is us playing 4-3-3. We used that system towards the end of last season with Moult, Smith and Kirby as the midfield three and I was expecting to see it on occasion this season when we re-signed Kirby. I don’t think Moult, Furman and Pringle would have the legs to play that way but the new lad sounds like a Kirby-type player, so it could be an option now. It would be interesting to see Pringle playing a bit further forward.

Whilst I’m not totally convinced by Kirby, he had a very effective game at Torquay and provided something we’ve noticeably missed in his absence. We were set up as we always are but he had those extra legs to go and press further up the field. Sort of when the 3 behind Dinanga are shielding the ball and it’s not going anywhere, he would go and press. Or when Dinanga and Colclough cornered someone he would be next on the scene.

It might have been a factor in Torquay hitting it longer than they’d have liked, rather than building it up a bit. Disrupting them at source basically. Hopefully at least Whitehead will give us that option as you don’t want teams to get too comfy against you.

He seems to have a reasonable record at conference level at least and will know the league well if nothing else.

I can only assume he has been offered to us and we have gladly accepted a player of his calibre, rather than us going in search of another midfielder when we have Moult, Pringle and Furman already?

I think the Sorvs connection with his Macc background could well have been a factor.

John Askey signed him for Macc and for Port Vale also. You’d imagine him and Sorvs are still good mates and likely to trust each other’s judgement.

Brad Jackson is a very good winger who can play full back when necessar

There's a huge difference between playing him for 90, 45 and 15 minutes to fill a gap at fullback

He was poor at times against Wealdstone, Grimsby hardly pulled up trees. He looked much more like the player we signed in his cameo on Saturday.

Ultimately though Jack, the gap is where the gap is. With Dens and Hampson not fully fit and Fitzpatrick going off injured twice we’re lacking a full back. I don’t think there’s really and option (perhaps try Dens at left back). Which is a shame because I think Senior and Mooney down the right flank is our best offensive weapon (Colclough isn’t arsed about his fullback overlapping him) and having Jackson to come on late as an out and out winger would be great.

But we are still at the stage where money is an object, if not the problem it has been in some respects, and there’s going to have to be a bit of balancing going on.

Just says not available on line otherwise?

Port Vale have released 15 players

Tom Pope being one of them.

35 now so too old but ha that made me laugh thinking back about 10 years or maybe 2012. His name came up during the summer and we were all a bit meh at him possibly signing as his goal scoring record was moderate but then he magically banged in 30 goals in league two in the next season.

I'm sure he'll still want to give full-time football a go, to be honest - even if he halves his wages he'll be on a decent living, and with a good few years left in him.

I still think somewhere like Salford would be good for him - he'll be great at that level.

Or Bolton if he comes back to the North West

To be fair I’d hope he avoids Bolton at all costs.

This is a fascinating photo & very decent quality.

I'm fairly sure that this is all Alty fans.

Bottom right, right to left: Elaine Seller | Nic Seller | Paul McGee

Behind Nic, is that Mike Adams & 2 to his right is that Campbell McLay?

I am to the right of the left hand post, above the Macc Number 5's left arm.

Does anyone have a photo/still of Ken McKenna’s FA Cup equaliser at Macc in 1990 with Jimmy hugging him.

It’s a very similar picture and you could probably do a good who’s who of Alty fans behind the goal.
