Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Matty Kosylo testamonial

Matty is a very talented player, but his temperament is very questionable, and is probably the reason that he hasn't progressed to a higher level. Too often he lets himself down, as well as his teammates and the club. The management stood by him through his long injury layoff, and his conduct this season is a poor reward for the faith and patience that they showed. I'm afraid today was the final straw for me, and I feel we should cut our losses and show him the door.

It should have been 3 up, 3 down years ago.

It's four up and four down between League One and League Two. Now THAT would be an interesting option.

We do NOT want Sittingbourne. I said as much before the draw last time, and Southend appear to have proved my point. Big physical team, efficient defence, ability to score on the break.....exactly the banana skin we need to avoid!

I'm patiently waiting for a referee to have the balls to issue a second yellow card for time wasting. sh*t game settled by an excellent strike. Oxford City at home please.

Amaluzor, E. Jones and Wilson are injured
Fake news,

Amaluzor is busy with Crankshaw fulfilling community activities around town. It's important work for our community so that's where they are. No injuries at Altrincham.

E. Jones has just been usurped by a better player and isn't the same football league standard player he was 12 months ago.

George Wilson is a development prospect who we are slowly blooding in. If he performs well we need to keep him out for the following 5 weeks to aide his development.

Jake Cooper is famously in to long distance running on Saturday's now.

We don't have injuries here at Alty we have minor issues that mean players aren't available... But they could be, right up until we hand in the team sheet.

I think I've grasped this corporate line perfectly. Took me a while but now I realise there are no injuries, players just have other things to do, I get it.

You really do come out with some garbage at times. Justin Amaluzor damaged his knee ligaments against Hartlepool three months ago, and is only just back in training. I'd call THAT a fairly major injury. Perhaps you think our injured players should go into some sort of purdah rather than act as ambassadors of the club.

Fabulous result, let's keep building the momentum now!

Obviously the result is the most important thing, but 10 shots to 2, with 8 of them on target, against a team down to 10 men for three quarters of the game, does rather suggest that we missed an opportunity to maximise our goal difference.

Suspect 1-1 might be the final scone but everything crossed.

I'll fight you for the final scone, provided there's jam and cream left too 🤣

Altrincham FC First Team / Josh Ginnelly

Those of us who remember Josh's loan spell, which was marked by his willingness to do his best for the team, will be glad to learn that, after 16 months on the sidelines with a muscle injury, he was a late substitute for Swansea City at Southampton this afternoon.

Bromley sign Kabamba from Barnet.

Phew.

Don't know why they needed him when they've already got super Marcus.

Super Marcus was injured in their 1-1 home draw with MK Dons on September 28th and hasn't been in a match day squad since. I can't find any details of his injury (we're apparently not the only club observing the Official Secrets Act with regard to fitness issues) but an absence of over 3 months suggests it's a serious issue.

They seem to be in a better run of form lately - they would have expected to win both Cup games in their current 9 match unbeaten run, but in the league they've drawn 5, and the only 2 wins were by 1-0 against strugglers Ebbsfleet and Maidenhead.

We need to keep Paul McCallum quiet (scored two on Saturday) but we should be capable of progressing.

....Or Sittingbourne, albeit I expect we would know little about them considering their location in Kent

Sittingbourne are 2nd in Isthmian League Division 1 South East. Granted it's a much lower standard, but they've only lost 1 game all season, they average over 3 goals a game, and have only conceded 16 goals in 23 games. Banana skin with a fluorescent 8 foot tall B!!!! Gainsborough stuffed Boston 0-4 on their own ground, and I watched them on TV giving Harrogate a difficult time. There are NO easy options from here on, but provided it's at home I wouldn't be averse to Spennymoor.

I might have missed it, but have we appealed the Kossy red card?

Why would we? Sheer idiocy and lack of control.

Provided we do get this drier forehe weekend, Barnet shouldn't be an issue.

There?s no chance Barnet start with a full team on Saturday. If we are on it then we?ll beat them. No doubt at all.

Let's look at it - it's only 4 miles down the road to Wembley Stadium from Barnet's ground. Their fans ain't looking for a big day out like we are. They need to concentrate on the league after only taking 3 points from their last 3 matches. They'll definitely have their eyes on the bigger prize. We need to go for the jugular, whether they weaken their team or not - and I agree that they more than likely will.

I've only been to the Crown Oil Arena once - it was the Good Friday afternoon 2018 when we were playing at Stockport in the evening, and they drew 0-0 at home to Southend. Of course they were both at the heady heights of League One just 8 seasons ago....

Home festive fixture, still deems lots of injuries so my team barring more would be

             Ross

Banks Olson   Baines Golden

      Wilson  Crawford

Weaver    Newby   Kosylo

         Linney

Agree with this, maybe James Jones for Olson.

Would love to see that front 4. Has Parky got the bottle?.? Not sure.

I'm pretty sure he hasn't, so Osborne for Weaver.
