Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Next season's squad
« on: April 28, 2023, 01:36:43 PM »
I'll get around to posting something more considered after tomorrow's game but as far as I'm concerned every position in the XI is now up for grabs and fair game. None of them have done enough to go into next season being assured of their position in the starting line-up, perhaps with the exception of Josh Lundstram. To start 2023/24 under the impression that our 'core' is strong enough would be a gamble, unfortunately, the 'goals against' speaks for itself.

We need some stiff competition to come in on a permanent basis to shake things up and inject some life into a squad that looks physically tired and mentally done.

I actually would agree, but add Marriot; he's had some underwhelming moments in the last few weeks, but his return sparked our upheal and alongside Maxi was good enough for a PO team.

£100k is chicken feed in this league. You need millions to compete at the very top.

It bought out best 2 players (At the time)....

Far to reliant on loans. Without a doubt they kept us up, we need to turn quality loans like ccc and newby into permanent deals. The next big announcement has to be financial and designed to make those deals happen.

That's if the money is available .surely 100k plus was  received for Colclough and Mullkey

Not sure if we got 100k, we only receive 50k for Colclough.
Not sure about Malarkey.
10k went on Linney.

Dinanga for Linney i imagine was net £0.

I reckon we cleared 75k between those other two. 600k in seeders. I'd be disappointed as an invetsor to ask where my cash has gone

Got far too many players wrong in the summer

Booked our tickets, were around 615 sold earlier, so creeping up. Assume a lot will pay on the gate..

I'm so out of habit of buying a ticket (As a ST holder), I imagine there will be others similar.

I would be disappointed if we didn't hit a minimum 1200

I agree with Bees on Twitter; probably worthwhile for football - but we should never play a rival in a friendly.

We were at our best with Sincalir CCC Newby and Jennings.

Hopefully with Linney and Kosy, we can focus in two top wuakity wingers to take us from 12tth-14th to 11th-8th

Att. 1500 - 3-1 Altrincham. The bears to score first, or equaliser before a professional 2nd half sees us ease home.

Gould
Perritt Jones Ferguson Jones

Lundstrum Marriot Osborne

Bennet Hulme

Linney

That’s about right but maybe Goodson his earned a start over Bennett? Pringle has started every round too, so may retain his place.

Hadnt considered Goodwin being available tbh. But yes, he could start. Perhaps even Bennet Linney Goodson Hulme, and dropping Osborne to the bench.

Bennet needs as many minures if we sign him, which I suspect we will.

I think the interviews are fine, I note Parky's last one said he had a decision to make over Goodson for next season, is that sign him up or loan out? I'd be keeping, he has some good potential in my eyes.

I'd like to see him spend early Pre-season with us, then head out (on a non-cup/trophy) loan to be a first-choice striker. He'll be unlikely to push Linney out of a starting spot from the off, and I think he could do a job at Chester/Curzon who seem to play a similar brand of football to us.

I agree with comments above and know that many of the the comments are light hearted banter... ..but at the same time would want to highlight that the stadium announcer role is another voluntary role undertaken by a long standing supporter of the club

He managed to mess up Jordan Sinnotts memorial, gets names wrong, can't seem to olay Fanfare for the common man at the right time, music stays on tikk kick off.

Oh and played the Welsh Anthen for the England C team via YouTube

What an achievement for Buxton to crash the playoffs - I could have sworn they were hovering above the relegation zone for much of the season. It seems Connor Kirby is having a very good season too - I can understand why we might have viewed him as too high risk following his injury, but he would have been useful for us - especially whilst Isaac Marriott was out.

I think he'd be a good replacement for Pringle to in the sqaud

Thought Osborne looked back to his best Tuesday night, expect to see him in from the start against torquay

Weird how defensive your last 2 posts have been about Osborne

I would take great pleasure in watching 600 men women and kids relegated on Saturday after the 4-4 last year.

Get them gone, don't be giving them that top corner.
