I hope this post ends up making me look very foolish, however there's no chance in hell that Nick Haughton is a realistic signing.

That's the spirit... If we're being beat by Oldham, we may as well give up before the season starts.

We need a marquee signing to add some oomph into what was a very flat last 6 weeks.

I'd rather than a 17-man squad with Nick Haughton, than 23-25-28 with kids.

We've lost Colclough and Mullarky from last summers squad who were  likely reasonable earners. Let's splash the cash wisely and get ourselves a new talisman.

in Vanarama Team of The Year.

I know he's not our player, but we did have him for 5.5 months out of the 9 month season. Have we had players in the league's team of the season, at this level, before?

Thank you John, Cathal and Rob for taking the fans thoughts on board.

Owen German in the sqaud, and not in the 'pre-season' section is interesting

Unless we go down!

An artificial pitch makes sense for Bury. I just hope that the FL is allowing these pitches by the time Bury are in a position to push for a return to the league.

If it costs 200k to go (half covered by grants) but they get 5 years of 100k profit on it, plus community benefits, they can always rip it up.

It's a reserve or youth kit I think. U18 wore it in their final against Trafford.

It's Puma's standard kit and I'm not a fan. There were murmurs of a 3rd kit last season, to be this summers release.

Username of 'strong summer needed'.

We seem to be in crisis every summer judging by the forum - we know targets are being identified and internal conversations will be happening with our players as we speak.

Let's just be glad we're not in Morecambe's position; they'll probably be assuming their natural level alongside us the season after next.

I'm not that fussed about when it comes per se, I wouldn't expect it till June, but the format of drip feeding signings shouldn't be our approach

Can't we invite them to supply use with their pies?

We need someone. The cheese and onion pasties and sausage rolls leave quite a bit to be required. (imvho)

How about Great North Pie co.

I think an established conference level keeper is a must for next season

As important as getting Linney

Been said by a few already, but are we the only club not to actually do these.

Be nice as a Pro Club to put this out, and not be waiting till they rocked up on trial elsewhere.

You'll still get your engagement from contract extension.

Not seen enough of Cooper. I think it depends on our GK. If we back him, then we need to look at some moor commanding CB and some better FB to prevent crosses.

I get the point around midfield having to take their share of accountability, but - as we see across all levels of football including the Premier League - an unstable goalkeeper and above-average rotation across the backline only ever leads to an adverse outcome.

Sometimes the answer isn't wholesale change, but just finding that one 'tweak' that settles everything down. The obvious one for most of us would be a mature, commanding goalkeeper - one that's closer to 30 than 20 - that can instil confidence in everyone in front of him.

We definitely need to move for central midfielders if the right ones become available - particularly if it means we have better bench options than Osborne and Pringle. We brought in Toby as backup all that time ago, he waited for his chances, and well and truly took them when they were finally presented to him. It's a long season anyway, and everyone is going to be involved.

How many goals are scored from set-pieces? or unable to clear our lines. I don't remember maybe sides carving us open, but wide balls, swinging in, I came name 15 whilst writing this.

I would say that our lack of width doesn't protect our fullback.

We need 2 or 3 signings like LUndstrum or Linney that really spark the energy and enthusiasm. Be it perm signings or long term (12-month loans)
