It is not just a case of a transfer fee - I agree we have a certain amount of money for that - but the issue arises with someone coming into the changing room on a higher wage, and this would have been a problem with Hulme had we offered him the money he was to get at Fylde
Laurence Looney explained this to us a couple of weeks ago; if you suddenly have a player bought in panic on twice the wage of anyone else in the squad you immediately have problems.
AND...what club wants to let a proven goalscorer go?
We will need either a loanee from a higher club or an enthusiastic , but unproven, young prospect from a smaller club.

Buying someone doesn't mean we have to break the wage structure. Someone proven at our level sat on someone's bench or someone one level below who we pay a fee for but keep top end of the wage budget.

we've yet to be outplayed but we will continue to draw or lose matches whilst we don't have a recognised goalscorer in our team.

I hope Phil can explain why despite the transfer budget nobody has been brought in to fill the gap and support Hancock. Furlough from Looney is an abysmal excuses too.

But this looks like it's time for me to strut my stuff as chief rememberer of minor squad players from 10 years ago. Because there's another player to have represented Alty and Wealdstone. That would be Mohamed Coly (sometimes referred to as Momo Coly), a huge midfielder who played for us twice in 2010/11. His debut was in the 12-1 thrashing of Alsager Town. He never made a league appearance but he was an unused sub a few times and did run out in the Cheshire Cup final against Northwich Vics. I think I co-commentated that game with you in the early days of Radio Robins.

Coly was last seen in the lower tiers of Germany. He claims to have played five games for Leyton Orient but this appears to be a lie.
