I believe it was a 3 match ban reduced to 1 match.

IMHO I think it shou;d be nothing more than a bit of a warning, especially considering the provocation.

Given what County fans thought re: both, I guess it's panned out as expected with Newby being the better longer term prospect for us (especially given his age). Jennings has been OK but I wouldnt be interested in keeping him on longer term from what I've seen so far - that's not to say I can't be convinced yet.

As far as I see it, we're tantalisingly close to solving our right winger issue, but we've far from solved our centre forward one.

I'm hoping our summer recruitment will involve going all our for a proper centre forward given we should be OK in most positions by then (if we can retain everyone).

I can only speak from listening to RR, but I get the feeling he adds a lot to the build up play - holding the ball, laying off, bringing others into play etc - but is certainly not a prolific goalscorer; I think he only had 1 chance on Saturday.
RR seem impressed with him.

Doddie Weir's sad passing made me think of Mark tonight.

Its been a while since any updates....its not like I can type "hope all if ok with him or his family" cos clearly it can't be, but we shouldn't forget his suffering also and wish him and his family strength and all our thoughts.

Ditto.

A lot of coverage up here in Scotland. Very sad

So frustrating we don't finish these games off, lose concentration and put pressure on ourselves late in the game.

Happy with the result though!

At FGR so the prattling BBC can waffle on about green issues!

Interestingly enough, the shout then for the offside trap was 'ON YOUR TOES.' That meant, move your backsides out and leave the forward offside; coming from the manager's bench.

When I was a manager at Unicorn, the coaching of our team that our Alex played in, was taken over by none other than Graham Tobin. I moved to manage our Chris's team. When we wanted our players to beat the offside trap, Graham taught them this with the shout of 'on your toe's' We managed this quite successfully, and when I asked Graham where he got his code from, he said it was from the Kingy/Tony Saunders era at Altrincham.

Weren't Unicorn (or their youth team) quite good at one time, along with Hale Barns United? I remember I used to frequently read about one or two lads from my school in SAM who played for HBU.

Hale Barnes United were THE team when I was a lad. One of my junior school mates, Alan Richardson played for them.

I really hope this is well supported and you have to appreciate these "Stars" for giving up their time (even if most of us have probably never heard of many of them!  ;) )

And here’s a clip you might have seen from the 84/85 season. I’ve seen most of these but don’t remember this one.

Interesting for the younger lads* for the clips of the ground (and Alty town centre).

Before the game would have been happy with 1-1...
....but a silly goal to give away so late - disappointed!

Will this be all but a reserve match?

Can't see Stockport putting out their strongest team.

Scored well at all levels so far - definitely worth a punt.

I wish him well.
