Chester seems to be the main theme here

I'll go with 'Jonno' out of the management duo - he seemed to be the one stoking the flames around the time they signed Johnston.

Every single player has been magnificent and played their part throughout this playoff process.

My picks from today were Toby, Ringo and Josh Lundstram who really helped us move through the gears at times.

What an incredible team and with a few minor tweaks I have no doubt in my mind that we'll give the league a good go next year.

Come on you Robins.

A lot, of course, depends on who comes on the market.

It sounds daft to mention it seeing as it wasn't so long ago that JJ chased the money - but it would be interesting to see if picking up Chester players could be an option (and NOT to get JJ back either!)

Full backs do cause me a bit of concern too - although Hampson has seemed like a different player again these last 2 games.

Not many feel comfortable discussing on an open forum - however is anyone willing to share who they would release?

Don't think Chester players are an option. Both centre backs in their mid thirties and the Chester fans themselves don't fancy their full backs!
Midfield and up front, we're much better throughout imo

Glendon would be alright as a midfield option in particular - but no idea how feasible it would be, depends on how much cutting their cloth they end up doing I suppose.

Brian mentioned on the commentary we'd taken both kits to York, and left it down to the ref who was happy for us to wear red & white. I must admit I was surprised.

I guess we'll do the same thing - take both, with the intention of wearing our home - and leave it down to the ref. Less of a clash than last week, but that means nothing with these refs.

We've worn our away kit there in the past - the aquamarine shirts in the FA Cup win spring to mind.

I think there will definitely be an issue with the shorts, so hopefully it will be as simple as swapping them out for red ones.

Was brilliant to see Jake up to speed again after a poor showing by his standards against Chester.

When he plays well, we play well.

Reckon we'll be allowed to wear our home kit again on Saturday?

I assume the shorts would be an issue - do we still have the red ones?

Halifax fans  seem to rate Brown , Redshaw  is probably still half decent.  They seem to think Chester might be interested

Redshaw won't be cheap and is extremely injury-prone.

Brown can't commit to additional training and it is assumed he would have been kept on otherwise.

Like us, they'll be more solid than the Gateshead game with the game time under their belts.

We're a very different team to the one that they stuffed earlier in the season, so let's hope they're the ones being complacent - not us.

...release one or two interesting names:

Jack Redshaw - who I wouldn't be surprised to see join Chester

Matty Brown - who the fans seem surprised by, he's based further over this way too, could be a good option for us

1977
Thompson, White, Mullarkey, Hannigan, Hampson, Moult, Lundstram, Mahon, Hancock, Durrell, Hulme

Could truly be anything this game.

Pushed, I think we bow out on penalties.

I'd go same XI personally, Mooney should start in my opinion

York will be favourites to beat both us and whoever they would play in the final if they did so. It's odd really, because their form at lockdown was inferior to all the other teams left in the play offs and they won't even have a home crowd to back them. Tbh, I fancy the winner of the other match to go up.

Yes but you could also say the 'reset' favours them more than any other club in that case - they started the season the fastest, and therefore could do the same over these two games.

I'm sure he'll still want to give full-time football a go, to be honest - even if he halves his wages he'll be on a decent living, and with a good few years left in him.

I still think somewhere like Salford would be good for him - he'll be great at that level.

Make no bones about it, York will be strong favourites in the eyes of most, and will be well up for it after campaigning for it so hard.
