Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Southport Match Thread
« on: December 28, 2019, 10:18:09 PM »
I have been informed that Southport are no longer full-time, which came as a bit of a surprise to me.

News to me, but not surprised after today’s performance.
Looks like they have given up

Thank you for that. It’s believed the crowd will be about 8,000 even with reduced prices
I’m sure you will hear our fans chanting.
Looking forward to a great day out.
We are hoping for another Birmingham, Sheffield Utd, and 15 other league scalps + Spurs, Everton and another’s replays.
Happy days, whatever the result.

Just to wish a safe journey here (and home again) to all coming down.

It won't be a packed Fratton Park (we may be averaging 17,500 for league games but for some reason never get to that level in early cup rounds).  But we can be noisy b**gers even if there's only 8,000 of us.  And we are quite capable of losing to anyone - your manager will have scouted us and be well aware of just how poor we can be defending set pieces.  I sincerely hope Pompey win, but am well aware that we could lose.

You've probaby checked our club site.  If not, the Good Companion pub is away fan friendly and ony a few minutes walk from the ground.

May you have a great day out; please make a lot of noise - your players deserve nothng less; and do expect some stick for wearing red and white stripes - our northern neighbours, Scumhampton, traditionally wear the same shirts.

Pompey say 8,000 home fans. I do hope it’s better than that.
Sure they took more to Wembley the other year🤔

Absolutely gutted.
ALTY legend.
My thoughts to his family, you should be proud of Allan.
He gave so much joy to Altrincham fans, I’m also sure to his family as well

Start next season with a 42 point deduction after breaching various rules
Not surprisingly the club are to appeal.

It seems that the 42 point deduction has been applied to the season just completed, meaning that Bangor City will be relegated to the 3rd tier of Welsh football when their appeal fails.:-

It all started to go wrong when that shyster Vaughan got involved. I've seen some cracking matches against Bangor City back in the day, and this genuinely saddens me.

Totally agree.
Some bloody good games against them in the VERY GOOD Cheshire League.

Surely they will be put down before dark it’s been dry and blustery all day

I think they may have looked at the forecast and thought their is no point in covering the pitch as it won't cope with the constant deluge forecast for tomorrow from mid morning onwards.

It means another Tues fixture which isn't ideal.

Thanks Ray spot on.
I could elaborate more, but got an early start tomorrow.
