Altrincham FC First Team / Today

As I couldn't got today (junior football and all) I fitted a new toilet seat.

Whenever I sit on it I will think of Crawley.

Altrincham FC First Team / Saturday
« on: September 18, 2007, 11:05:48 PM »
Saturday is the last chance for the management, several players and any hopes of putting a run together  that will enable us to catch Farsley at the end of season.

The atmosphere in the second half was as negative as I believe it is in the dressing room, so I insist this is the starting 11 :-

Acton

Lane
Shotton
Rose
Clancy

Potts
Owen
Whalley
Logan

Little
Senior

We must go at least 1 or 2 goals in front and really boss this game.

Altrincham FC First Team / Left side
« on: August 19, 2007, 11:13:46 AM »
After yesterday it's clear that O'Neill is not a left winger (not his position I know) so how about playing Whalley out wide? He doesn't look 100% fit yet but with his sion and cultured left foot I think he would created chances for whoever play's up front.

On the subjuect of yesterday the linesman and referee were dreafull, but you can't concede 3 goals in the first 5mins of both halves and hope to get anything out the game. Munro and Tinson haven't clicked yet, but given a couple more games I think they will. Good to see Peyton back even though it looked like it was his first game of the season.

As it's free scoring Grays on Sat I think it going to be a big test of our defences.

Altrincham FC First Team / Injuries
« on: April 09, 2007, 06:48:55 PM »
The way I hear is that Owen, Senior, G. Scott are out for the season, Coburn could barley walk today and Band picked up a knock . This leaves a bare bones of a team with injured players making up numbers on the bench.

The fit players are all knackered (and I don't blame them) I feel it's going to take a massive effort  (or a hungover D & G) to get the 3pts that would now be enough.

Thankfully Rose is now available and will play at RB which should steady the back four.

Any more injuries would be disasterous.

As MUFC are on BBC at 5.15 on sat would there be any merit in puttiing the big screen up in the hope of getting a few more in the NWS and keeping those who do go in a bit  longer than normal?

Altrincham FC First Team / Team Formation

I know we had a lack of midfielder's yesterday but I felt sorry for O'Neill stuck out the right, he never got in the game. Given that he scored twice last match his confidence must have high I would have put where he normally plays esp. with Little playing.

Thomson did nothing wrong (apart from a bad first touch when he had a one on one with keeper) but I would have had him on bench, Scott LB, Peyton LW and Thornley RW, but thats my opinion.

I hope Bushell's back saturday who along with Owen puts a lot more bite in the middlle.

Not the end of the world losing yesterday but the manor of it (ie to concede 2 in last 7 mins) was the kick in the teeth.

Team will be :

Coburn
Scott
Munroe
Rose
Peyton
Lawton
Bushell
Owen
Chalmers
Thornley
Thompson

We'll go down to 10men at some point when someone takes retribution on Quinn for his assult on Little at ML (Bushell I think).

Score 2 -0 Halifax

Atten 1500

Assuming Little is out this would be my 11 for Sat

Coburn
Aspinall
Munro
Rose
Scott
Lawton
Bushall
Chalmers
Peyton
Thornley
O'Neill

If the crowd and team are 75% pumped up as Monday then I predict 2-0 (Bushall, Thornley) and a gate of 1.300

Altrincham FC First Team / Right Back

Now Aspinall is suspended who will play right back? I wouls assume Scott with Peyton left back. This does deprive us of an attacking left sided player so do you think Bowler will get a start?
