Clearly something's gone on behind the scenes for his departure to be announced in such a quiet manner - in normal circumstances I think we'd have given him a bit more of a send off.

Ultimately he was nowhere near good enough - it's as simple as that, harsh as it may sound.

Good luck to him, hopefully he establishes himself a little further down the pyramid.
Not sure that a player who managed 1 season deserves a send off? That aside, I really hoped that as a local lad he’d do well for us. It just wasn’t to be. Hope he moves on and makes a success of it somewhere else. Not Macc of course though.

It's been 42 years since we beat York City in the FA Cup to earn the right to one of our finest hours in the the next round, knocking out then top-flight Birmingham City. We've not come a long way since then in terms of our progress up the pyramid - indeed we could be argued to have dropped back just a touch - but back then beating the Minstermen was very much a "giant killing". Looking at the current state of affairs at York one rather has to feel sorry for them. Next season they look nailed on to be routinely playing the likes of Rushall Olympic and Radcliffe, and when you consider that they'll be sharing that "privilege" with other ex League clubs like Chester, Southport, Darlington, Boston and the reformed Hereford and Scarborough....yes, we HAVE progressed.
It was York in the 4th round after we beat Birmingham in the 3rd round. 2nd round was Blackpool wasn’t it?

Does anybody know the attendance?
356. Hard to estimate the away support as everyone was spread out, but 40-50 maybe.

What's everyone's beef (or should that be tofu?) with FGR? Why don't we like them again?
Take a look at http://ftgotg.blogspot.com/?m=0 for details of their attempts to get us relegated.

46 year old Kevin Ellison could be our target. He played for Runcorn.

It's usually caused by a missing or corrupt stylesheet in the forum software
Thanks for the parking advice.

I get the same flawed forum display, but only on Windows 10 with Chrome following a recent Chrome update. Using safari on an iPhone is fine.
Edit - just checked Chrome on the iPhone and the display is wrong there too.

Portsmouth were away to Fleetwood in the round after they beat us.

Correct and it cheered me up no end.
Almost makes me glad we lost. What a terrible draw that was - on a par with Maidstone getting Stevenage this season (albeit at home).

If it hadn't been for the Wealdstone game we'd surely have beaten that wouldn't we? 🤔🙄😄
Surprisingly we’d only gone 16 without a clean sheet since a 1-0 vs Southend on March 25th.

The club need to update us on injuries and timescales more frequently.
Why? We might be interested in reading about updates but I doubt that anyone bases their decisions on whether to attend a match based on who is/isn’t likely to play. Beyond that, updating supporters also updates the opposition and allows them to prepare accordingly. Why give them that advantage.

A search on the forum history shows the code lc3467 from last year - assume it’s the same now as I’ve auto-rejoined for this year.

Incidentally, I wouldn't fancy living in one of those houses that backed onto the away end!

You’re not alone. Very odd layout whereby the away fans have to walk through Brookside to reach the turnstiles.

Colchester in the FA Cup in 2015 too?

Well said Andrew. There are still a few of us on here who were involved with SAFE and can vouch for the effort involved (while acknowledging that circumstances then were very different to now).
There’s a fine line between independence of the club and engagement with the club but I suspect there are sufficient motivated people to make it work.

Tell you what's mint. People asking for spares.

The next step to be massive is half and half scarves in town centre, and programe sellers/burger vans on Moss Lane.

2x Sell Outs in a season, where we're midtable is superb.

If I ever see a half Alty half any otherclub, I shall weep.
I was hoping to get one at Runcorn on Tuesday.

How much money do they win for being relegated these days? I seem to remember that in the 90s, the GMVC champions got £5,000 prize money.

I think I'm right in saying that, at least since Darlington (1990?) Celtenham Town are the only club to win the Conference at the first attempt after being relegated from the FL.

Shrewsbury went straight back up
Via the playoffs I believe?
