It sounds like a great game. Will there be any highlights available?

The highlights should prove popular. The first goal is already up, a very cool and competent finish. I wonder when the full highlights will appear?

After the embargo time,  would imagine this afternoon at some point.

Was a big 8 hour+ edit with 3 cameras and nearly 17 minutes in length. Currently processing so should be ready early evening!! ;)

Altrincham FC First Team / 50 minutes with Tony Sanders
« on: November 19, 2023, 01:26:55 PM »
We are screening a 50 minute interview with the great Tony Sanders tonight at 7pm. This really is a must watch as Tony explains how those 'glory years' came together. I was a teenager on the Golf road terraces back in those days but the video is a historical piece which I think all ages will enjoy. Join us on the live chat! https://youtu.be/yoUyBIQbOPE

A small point in the scheme of things. What's happened to Alty TV? It seems that it is no longer in HD. In fact, definitely LD.

Thanks for the feedback on this. We've recently switched to the TNT owned camera as main cam as my trusty old JVC (Alty TV cam) can no longer send out a stable output to the NLTV stream (a very loose HDMI out). You might notice a much better quality picture when the edit switches back to camera 2 (using the JVC) on the Southend video. I'll try to make a few more tweaks to the TNT camera and if this doesn't work we'll revert to a dedicated single camera edit using the Alty TV camera only for highlights and leave the NLTV feed on the TNT camera.

Thanks UA. We hope to make it a regular feature. All a matter a time, personnel and equipment.

The UEFA Article 48 blackout is applied by the FA in England. As well as dictating which day of the week (Saturday) and which timeframe (3pm-5pm) they can also decide which dates it will be effective on and which ones it won't. They tend to lift the blackout when there are no Premier League fixtures. For example, earlier in the season the blackout was lifted during the World Cup.

With land within the town pretty much impossible to source and house prices so high I guess the nearest we'd find for the Euromillions new stadium would be Broadheath? Always thought the Cartwright's site would have a decent footprint but now being developed. Other than that we're hemmed in by green belt. In the future the proposed and controversial Timperley Wedge development might present a site?

Anybody seen any match highlight videos yet?
Mark from Alty TV was hoping to upload the highlights this morning. Hopefully later today as not there yet.

Sorry... bit of a family issue on going at the moment. Might have something uploaded this evening.

RIP Kingy. A true Club legend and hero of mine. The Choir Invisible will be singing "Kingy's gonna get ya" at the Pearly Gates

How the hell is there live domestic footy on bbc 1 at 3pm on a Saturday!  To make matters worse for the the second round running it’s FGR!

Because less than 50% of the League 1/2/championship games are at 3pm

The rest of us don’t count then. I thought the 3pm ban was there to protect grass roots not the pockets of the bigger clubs

The 3pm-5pm blackout (UEFA clause 48) is optional. Domestic football associations can opt in or out of the clause. The FA choices to opt in but can specify the day and time of the blackout (Saturdays 3pm-5pm) BUT can also choose which dates the blackouts apply and which it doesn't. Clearly the FA has specified dates where there are no Premier League fixtures to NOT apply the clause. Whether that is right or wrong is another matter.

Stalybridge Celtic and that Danny McGoona miss.

That McGoona miss defied the laws of physics. The ball was practically on the goal line so he showed no end of skill to get it over the crossbar.

Worst for me was the 1-5 home defeat to Mossley in the FA Trophy in 1980. In my mind we were invisible at the time so to lose by that scoreline... To be fair, Mossley weren't a bad outfit either.

Remember a game at Morecambe's old ground some years ago (may have been a cup game?) with a bitterly cold wind blowing in sleet in from the north. Honestly thought I was almost hypothermic and have never been more relieved to hear the full-time whistle even though (from my abysmal memory) I think we lost.
