I imagine permanent loos in the away end too. Did I not hear we would have to add a roof to the away end also. Can the club clarify what needs doing to meet EFL standards? Now more than possible promotion odds cut further now. I do know the lease was extended fairly recently in the last 3-4 years I think.

That was the 90/91 season, we beat them 9-2.

Other than having the runnersup spot, very little, could make a difference to who they play though.

Let's also avoid further injuries in the playoffs too. Phil, use substitutes wisely like I know you both will. Especially if we are a couple of goals to the good.

Yep, same here Saughall! Never thought I'd see this in my lifetime.

Next season will be my 50th supporting Alty, what a way to celebrate if we make EFL2 - fingers crossed and everything else.

Fantastic board, managment and team too. Suggest we have a fan/managment/board meeting in the not too distant future.

They're not actually a bad combination. Can we not use Donowa in one of those positions, and Banks at RB?

I don't think they can extend the season due to the planned playoff dates, they could end up playing up to Thurs, Sat, Mon, Weds then Sat again at a pre-organised venue. Not ideal but down to pitch and to extend is not fair on other teams who can meet their fixtures. It was also Halifax who decided to share their pitch with a rugby team too. When we shared with Trafford Rugby a few years ago we had similar pitch problems and they don't really mix.

If we play to what we are capable of in both games, max 6 points definitely doable. Let other teams worry about us, we are already in a much stronger position and we should go into these games with confidence - and the playoffs.

Some of the currently competing teams are playing each other and those outside the playoffs. We seem to now have the easiest run=in, but nothing is certain of course.

I think 4th place is more than feasible, where we are now, other teams are more likely to drop points than we are at present. We just need to win our remaining games and then let other teams worry about catching us. Rather have maximum points on the board and let other teams worry about us. The ball is now firmly in our court.

They will be particularly vulnerable during the last 20 minutes also, but an early goal will help immensely.

Regarding the earlier posting of trouble outside the ground, my foster daughter who is 11 showed me a video she had found of an Altrincham fan being beaten up and kicked by about 10 Gateshead fans, he was curled up on the floor. She deleted it in disgust but was upset as it was one of our supporters being beaten. I have asked her today if she still had it as I wanted to send it to the club, and get them to tackle Gateshead about it and identify some of their fans. However, she did say she had deleted it and it only appeared momentarily, but she did show it to me. It was actually outside the main front door of the main stand.

My biggest worry after the season ends, playoffs or not, is keeping the players we currently have. CCC springs to mind, especially with Chesterfield now being promoted. Is he under contract for next season too? I hope that is he does go, it takes a massive amount of money to prise him away.

Thoughts?

To be honest, if we do finish in the playoff spots at the end of the season, I quite fancy us to do well.

Phil and most of the team have a fair bit of experience in the playoffs but we just have to finish in the top 7, That will be harder than dealing with the playoff matches I think.
