Cant see it being on looking at the forecast , regardless of pitch covers
The dodgy bit looks to be in front of the main stand and the community hall, i suppose if we cover these well enough!

We're just going to have to get used to it, teams looking at the league table very happy with a draw vs us.  In the past they'd have thought they might win and go forward.
Cant agree that CCC positioning was to blame, its more about having something different to unlock this defensive system.  Amaluzor looked most likely.

Regardless of whether it's lazy or not, I actually wouldn't mind if they just reversed the two colours on the away kit.
I like that idea

If its 1 up front I'd say Linney, we seem to do a lot of the hard work first half, pushing on more second half

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Moss Lane Or New Ground
« on: September 02, 2023, 07:21:40 AM »
I think the issue really is that house and land prices are so ludicrously high within a mile / few miles of the ground that any new ground would cost more than the club could raise by offering the existing land.  (plus the covenant for recreation).  In most cases that is how the new grounds have been paid for.   York seemed to have done well, and location with other things such as the shops and cinema help, their attendances are strong.  Northwich got it horribly wrong

it might have saved the club at the time but selling off the car park for housing is a massive restriction on future stadium development.
Thats a really good point, but like you said was necessary

As much as Elliott Osborne has pleasantly surprised us this season, I think the majority of us feel that the next piece in the jigsaw is an absolutely top-class centre midfielder to adequately replace what we've lost in Josh Lundstram.

I agree that an absolutely top drawer right back would be the icing on the cake.

I think Osbourne is fine, getting our loan keeper on a perm contract would be my priority

Not handy to walk to but their is quite a bit of land by the M56 junction near bowdon, cant be worth much as the motorway and sliproad are there.

Apparently have signed a forward "Berry" from some nondescript lower league club

Tough opening few games imho.
Thought Kiddy would be on a notable date. Not the opener though, it's on Good Friday!

I think the first few games look really tough, need to get some points on the board but not easy games at all, run in looks much more favourable

Altrincham FC First Team / Away corners

Given we now have two of the most rapid wingers in the league, might see some punts upfield (strategic long passes) if we catch the ball from an opposition corner.  We did this a bit with JJ a few years ago

I'm not so sure, having a quick accurate database of the grounds is helpful but could be used to set higher standards for progression

Altrincham FC First Team / Whose for the drop?
« on: June 27, 2023, 04:22:08 PM »
Having been named in the bottom 4 according to the bookies, who do we think is actually for the drop?
Solihull look a bit of a mess and I think Rochdale may well struggle.  Dorking and then Oxford for me

Is that Toffee Apple at bthe back? Are they all real people? And who's been left out? And who are the away supporters/ They've brought a good crowd anyway, so probably not Vauxhall Motors...
I have one of these,  I think its me too but Mrs Apple is not impressed that I appear to be with a blonde lady.
I like the picture a lot, perspective is a little off and the amount of people you could fit into areas of the ground is exagerated but nice to have
