I notice they have a “ Former players who turned out to be wrong uns” thread.

There must be quite a few ex-Alty players, and maybe a manager that could qualify for that.

Was that the season we beat Myrthr away by some mad score? I recall a ‘Myrthr Maulers’
Headline in one of the local rags…

Gateshead keeper - straight red. Aldershot don’t look particularly likely to score however, despite the man advantage…

Dorking and Ebsfleet are going to be extremely difficult.
I just hope they don’t come out of the traps like Hartlepool did in the second half and we find ourselves chasing the game. We will get chances against them however so need to be clinical when they arrive. I think Donawa should keep his place. Having watched the OLdham game in full on TV since, he was much better than I gave him credit for on the day. Baines, Cooper and Ross could be the guys who win us the point/s.
Respect goes out to anyone making the trip on Sat.

His performances have gained us a number of points this season. So have CCC’s. Tough one to call…

They were good. No mistake.
I thought their number 14 was impressive and they deserved to win.
We absolutely need to find a how to retrieve a game when we go behind.

It's been 42 years since we beat York City in the FA Cup to earn the right to one of our finest hours in the the next round, knocking out then top-flight Birmingham City. We've not come a long way since then in terms of our progress up the pyramid - indeed we could be argued to have dropped back just a touch - but back then beating the Minstermen was very much a "giant killing". Looking at the current state of affairs at York one rather has to feel sorry for them. Next season they look nailed on to be routinely playing the likes of Rushall Olympic and Radcliffe, and when you consider that they'll be sharing that "privilege" with other ex League clubs like Chester, Southport, Darlington, Boston and the reformed Hereford and Scarborough....yes, we HAVE progressed.
It was York in the 4th round after we beat Birmingham in the 3rd round. 2nd round was Blackpool wasn’t it?

Yes, 4th round was York away. Lost 2 or 3 nil I think?

I thought Angus you played his role fairly well last night which was essentially being in CCC’s position but playing it defensively. Not an easy task

I agree. I thought he worked really hard when he came on..

This extends to the mangement team. Some strong leadership is needed here too.

PP is still learning his craft and this is only his third season managing at this level. The same players were on top of their game a month ago, getting them back on track is as much his responsibility (if not more) than the team captain or goalkeeper.

I’m writing this year off as a realistic attempt at promotion. I hate to think what might happen to us (on current form) in the play offs if we made it.

Still, you never know…

Didn’t get to see this or the Hartlepool game but the fact we don’t look like we can get back into games is particularly worrying. I imagine our points gained from losing positions stats would make for interesting reading. Beyond the one point at Bromley due to Newby’s excellent free kick, I’m struggling…

We were terrific today. Only one team in it and 4-0 reflects the balance of play.

Every outfield player was excellent! If we can keep key players fit for the remainder of the season, the play-offs beckon…

I’d imagine he’s on their radar nonetheless.

I don’t imagine he would go at this stage of the season but stranger things have happened…
