As some of you are aware, Rob was an Alty fan who died of a heart attack brought on by an asthma attack in 2009, aged 15. On Tuesday 10th May, Altrincham Boys will play St. Ambrose at Moss Lane, kick off TBA, but it will probably be around 6pm. Entry is £3 and all money will be donated to Ashtma UK.

I know we always talk on here about getting the kids interested from an early age, so here is an idea with a precedent. Last weekend, FCUM ran a Youth Day, where all U18s gained free admission to the match, as well as other activities around Bury. For the match they had an attendance of 2800, which is around double their average home attendance for this season. We'll see at their next home game how many people have been 'hooked' by the offer, but would a one off event like this boost the club's awareness around the local schools? All the work in promoting the day was done by the younger fans who posted leaflets and handouts around the local schools, so it is possible.

How negative are people on here? At a quick glance, threads such as 'I'd get rid of 90% of them' aren't going to give the players who may come on here the slightest glimmer of hope or confidence. I know last night wasn't great, but can we please stop swinging the moods every other match? We pick up points, great result and we're staying up, we lose, we're down.

 "As if the blow of losing manager Dean Holdsworth to Aldershot wasn't big enough for Newport County fans, things have just got worse as top scorer Craig Reid has left for League Two side Stevenage. The deal is a "club record" for Stevenage - but undisclosed - includes strike duo Charlie Griffin and Yemi Obubade going in the opposite direction."

After spending the afternoon at FC United (a team who we could, in a worst case scenario, play next year), I make a massive beg to everyone that we do all we can to stay up- Even one year, it could be more, of watching that standard of football would be enough to drive all of us mental.
