Altrincham FC First Team / Phil Parkinson/Neil Sorvel
« on: October 30, 2023, 09:28:09 AM »
May I through this site appeal to Phil Parkinson and Neil to stay as our current manager and assistant.

All the good work you have both done will be undone as we are definitely a team on the up. We are all aware of the interest from Grimsby Town currently, but you are both able to take this club much, much further. The board have supported you and you have never let us down in your career with us. We would really like you to stay and achieve what you, Neil and our beloved club are more than capable of.

Think the grass is always greener on the other side and your job here is secure, and local to you and your family.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, PHIL AND NEIL.

Altrincham FC First Team / Oldham Away
« on: October 24, 2023, 02:20:28 PM »
Thanks to the club for changing the timing of the away coach to 1pm. And the management board and players for the coach. Lacie is playing for the Under 12's Sapphires on Saturday but will be finished and back home by 1200pm. Therefore, we can now make the game and indeed have booked the coach and tickets at the Chaddy End with the away fans.

Can someone advise as I have limited mobility, where the coach drops us? Is it actually close to the ground as I have a walking stick.

Thanks and see you all tonight and on Saturday, our first away game this season.

Cannot get to game as going on holiday with our foster daughters next day.

Altrincham FC First Team / An appeal to the foodhalls and snack bars

Would it be possible to add bacon barms to our menus, or is this not possible cost wise or time wise?

Altrincham FC First Team / The Open day today
« on: July 29, 2023, 08:46:26 AM »
I understand that we have a chance to meet and mingle with the Alty players today after their team photo session at the ground in an open day this lunchtime.

Is this still going ahead? I am sure I saw something the other week on our sites or Twitter, but there is nothing on the main sites reminding us, so not sure if it is cancelled.

Just been announced on Alty site, Phil and Neil extend contracts by further two years.

Great news for all of us.

Alty TV meeting at 6pm tonight with Brian Flynn and both of them, big MUST-WATCH.

Altrincham FC First Team / Isaac and after the Torquay game
« on: April 23, 2023, 01:55:05 PM »
I hope you all (or the club) don't mind me using this forum as below:-

Yesterday after the Torquay game ended I went into the CSH to buy drinks for myself and the girls. Lacie went outside to help set the pitch up for the tournament tonight, which her Black Kites Girls team are taking part in. She then played football on the pitch with other children. Brooke went out of the bar to look for her, walked onto the CSH terracing and lost her balance, falling on her right side. She then came into the CSH looking for me, crying. After talking to her and finishing my pint, I took her into the St John's Ambulance First Aid room, where the staff looked her over as she had also hurt her hip. she was fine but her elbow was painful and she had virtually no mobility in her arm without discomfort. They recommended a check at Wythenshawe Hospital which we eventually did.

Brooke, who is twelve, was very upset because she wanted to go to the club's 'meet the players party' in the CSH afterwards for photo's and to get autographs. The St John's staff saw how upset she was and asked me if she would like a visit from a player to cheer her up. Brooke likes Isaac Marriott, so I asked if she could say hi to him and get a photo. The nurse fetched him, and in the meantime my wife Carys arrived. Isaac gave up 15 minutes of his time to come and chat to Brooke, asked her what had happened and she was able to get her photo taken with him. He also asked her who her favourite player is and she looked him directly in the eye and said, 'You are Isaac.' He laughed, said he was glad and finally went back afterwards to rejoin the party. Brooke visibly cheered up and was happy that Isaac had given her a little of his time. We as a family really appreciated the care she received from the St. John Ambulance staff and also the time Isaac spent with her. I would like the club to pass on our thanks to St John's and to Isaac in particular.

This is further evidence of the Alty Family we have become, and how priceless the club is to the community.

Thanks to the club for their duty of care, the St. John's Ambulance team, and in particular to Isaac Marriott for giving Brooke some of his valuable time. I did take Brooke to hospital afterwards. They found a small crack in her elbow, but this was found just to be a growth crack as the bones grow naturally when a girl reaches 12 years. There is some bruising, but no bone damage. We finally arrived home with her at 1am. Brooke is out at the St George Parade in Sale currently and is fine now, with her arm in a support sling. Lacie is excited to be playing football with her team later today, it took 10 minutes to get her off the pitch yesterday, to go and take Brooke to hospital!

Carys and my thanks go to all involved yesterday.

Altrincham FC First Team / Yesterday's match
« on: March 05, 2023, 01:32:04 PM »
Despite the reverse of the result I expected us to get, I am not going to be negative but am going to just put it down as a minor glitch which everybody will have learnt from. I did feel much better once I listened to Phil's interview after the game. The club have made several long journeys recently, and we have had new players join or rejoin the club. Phil has identified faults and will work with the players. We are still a great side with much to play for, and we have to expect that this will sometimes happen for whatever reason.

There is still much to look forward too and unlike some clubs our season is far from over.

Whoops! Dinnertime.

Altrincham FC First Team / Phil's interview re Gateshead
« on: October 16, 2022, 08:28:11 AM »
I feel a lot better after yesterday's game, listening to Phil's interview. He spoke very honestly about the game, and the problems surrounding it with the squad. I have a better understanding of the changes and enjoyed what he had to say. I think we should also give credit to Gateshead for the way they came out to attack us. Both teams had their moments, and either team would have won the game with better finishing or decision making.

We are where we are now, and I am sure with a better knowledge of Gateshead's weaknesses we can get a good result.

Altrincham FC First Team / 2022/23 Season
« on: August 06, 2022, 06:32:42 AM »
Well all, I can tell it's the start of the new season. Woke up this morning at 0430am and was unable to get back to sleep again, so came downstairs.

The reason for this is typical of me, my mind becomes active as soon as I wake up as it runs over with anticipation for what will happen this season. However, this time there is the addition of our club starting full time for the first time in it's history, a new fresh challenge for the club. I must admit I haven't a clue how we are going to get on this season. It will, I think, be completely different from all previous ones. This is one of the reasons why I woke early. I think during the close season, Phil and Neil made the right calls with the squad signings, but time will tell. I do feel we may be better than expected to be honest, and we will be unknown quantity to all the other teams; it really could go either way. My own feeling is we could be top half of the table, but I really don't know where. Stand-out players this season I think will be James Jones, Josh Lundstram, Jordan of course and Ryan Colclough. All of the squad are going to have their moments, and we did well to get that win last week against MUFC. My surprise package this season though is Alex Sami, our very own pocket-rocket. His career seemed to go into a hiatus when he went to Scotland to play for Kilmarnock, probrably because of his first move away from home. Brian interviewed him on Alty TV, and I found it very interesting to listen to. I wish him the best of luck, but if anyone can bring his career back on track, it is Phil and Neil. I also think Amar Hussain will find his feet this season.

I really feel for Isaac and Matty suffering injuries before the season starts. I really hope they are back in the squad sooner rather than later, but I know it is going to be difficult for them. I wish them all the best and I am sure we will see them very soon.

Our squad are a nice bunch of lads, I met them at the open day and chatted to a few of them, including Matty and Alex Sami. I am very excited about today's game. My prediction for the final score, sorry but I am going to stick my neck out here - 4-1 to Alty, but really I have no idea. Maidstone United came up as champions last season so they are also an unknown quantity. All will be revealed, and once again, I think we will surprise a few teams.

One thing is certain though, it's great to be back with an extra spring in our steps!  C'mon Alty!!

Altrincham FC First Team / Friendly away at Stoke U23's - Tuesday

Hi all,

Can someone advise if Radio Robins will still be in attendance at Stoke, even though it is behind closed doors?

Altrincham FC First Team / New player Amaar Hussain
« on: July 03, 2022, 05:40:25 PM »
Understand we have signed a new player from our younger squads, Amaar Hussain.

Noted interview on site, believe he is from youth/under 23's scoring goals in our younger teams for fun. See him on the scoresheet regularly.

Altrincham FC First Team / The Junior Girls awards 2021/22 season
« on: June 25, 2022, 08:54:57 PM »
Hi All

The above took place today, organised by our beloved head of Altrincham Girls, Rachel Davies. What a superb afternoon for all the girls. A meal, disco with a DJ and of course the presentation of end of season, and also the awards for each team. Our presentation this afternoon was wonderful, and we all enjoyed ourselves very much, both parents and children alike. All the girls received a trophy and well done to all the winners in each age group/team.

Can I also personally and publicly thank Lacie's coach Rob Tanti, and Rachel too, for awarding our younger foster daughter the Altrincham FC Juniors Club Sportsgirl of the Year award for 2021/2022. It has not been easy for her since she came to us 18 months ago, as our foster daughter with her elder sister, . Altrincham FC Juniors was one of the reasons why the girls have settled so well. She has been given this award because of her values with her colleagues and respect for the opposition, especially if they are injured. She is a true sportswoman, and is loved by her teammates and coaches alike, and also the parents. She has the large trophy on top of her bookshelf in her bedroom and is very proud of her award. This is an achievement against all odds, and I am very, very proud of her. The club has been vital to both the girls settling in with us, and they have played a major part in them adapting to their new life. They are staying with us now until they are both eighteen, so the club has two extra supporters ongoing. Most of you know them by sight as they are regular attendees. Thank you so much to the club for awarding this, sorry I was in tears when she won it, but I couldn't help myself. She holds dear, everything that the club is about and represents. See you all next season with both the girls, should be at most of the friendlies. Have great summer everybody.
