Sorry state of affairs there has seen them wound up.

The new club will probably keep Edgar Street though so I reckon they will bounce back quite quickly.

Altrincham FC First Team / Season Tickets
« on: May 16, 2014, 04:42:30 AM »
A £60 season ticket for under 16s and £30 for under 11s is good value in my opinion.

We have 6700 followers on twitter and 2500 likes on Facebook.  I really hope we can keep pushing these prices online, particularly through social media.  Interest in us is high right now and I think we should strike while the iron is hot.

Three promotions in the last 15 years. All great of course in their own right. How would we rank them for drama, quality of football, memories etc.?

or is it impossible to compare?

The new edition of the magazine has a very good fly on the wall photo spread of the Worcester game last month. Well worth getting a copy.

Altrincham FC First Team / Documentary

Not sure if its online somewhere, but there's a very good behind the scenes film about Kingstonian on Channel Four early tomorrow morning at 2.50. Worth recording, or watching if you're an insomniac.

Congratulations to Rob Gilroy for getting into the England under 18 set up.  Great news for the club. Credit also to George and the Youth Team staff.

Altrincham FC First Team / another sugar daddy bails out
« on: September 10, 2012, 08:41:37 AM »
Truro City, promotions galore, took loads to Wembley, went full.time, talk of a 16,000 capacity stadium, bringing the football league to cornwall, etc etc.

The chairman has gone bankrupt, and the club is now in administration....

Altrincham FC First Team / the glory days
« on: January 08, 2012, 12:19:53 PM »
Looking at comments about our current position and "decline" is it fair to say we were truly spoilt rotten as fans during the 70s and 80s and, in some ways, that success (of which we should be very very proud) is now working against us?

Altrincham FC First Team / The forgotten Tony Sanders?
« on: September 23, 2011, 06:51:36 PM »
Not usually one to delve into nostalgia on here, but I'm reading Joe Fagan's biography at the moment and it touches on his achievements and the fact that he's barely remembered outside of Anfield.  It got me thinking about Tony Sanders' own status at the club.

Arguably the greatest manager we've ever had, nearly a decade in charge, built the glory years of the 70s and 80s.  Yet for me he seems a sort of forgotten figure, not really talked about.

Am I being unfair?  One for the old timers I guess but how good was he?  What was he like?

Altrincham FC First Team / community programme
« on: August 21, 2011, 09:03:17 PM »
Was reading on the official site about all the community events and programmes we have done recently. I think its fantastic progress and the way forward for the club. Well done all those involved.

Altrincham FC First Team / Rushden's rise and fall
« on: June 12, 2011, 09:58:28 AM »
Interesting that Rushden are now pretty much back to where they were before Griggs put his millions in. There was always the chance it would fall apart when the money ran out and now it has. Thing is, would we accept a similar offer from a guy like Griggs when we knew it probably would end in tears one day? Any thoughts?

Very good article in the new issue about our relegation and the struggles we and others face being part time. Generally sympathetic to us, and a nice contrast to the article opposite which explains why Crawley are so disliked
