Altrincham FC First Team / Club Statements
« on: March 08, 2024, 03:52:52 PM »
Disappointing to see the club having to issue a 2nd statement in the space of two days regarding events at Tuesdays match. Also on Tuesday, there was a further incident on the Popular Side at the end of the 1st half, between a longstanding fan and a group of young lads who may have just started coming to games. Stewards quickly intervened and defused the situation. Tuesdays game does highlight though, that with increased crowds, there are going to be more idiots. This was the case at some games last season, but I don't think had been much of a problem this season, until the home game v Rochdale, where there were some minor issues I believe after the game with fans heading back into town, and then on Tuesday. Hopefully that will be it for the remaining games of the season, but obviously the Oldham game stands out, where there could be issues and any potential play off games as well.

Altrincham FC First Team / Scrotes
« on: December 20, 2022, 11:10:03 PM »
It may just be me, but it seems to be the case that we have attracted a fair few scrotes this season, who at times are behaving like dickheads. Take tonights game, for the last 25 mins of the 1st half, there were a group of 6 lads who stood behind the goal at the Hale End, giving puerile abuse to the Curzon keeper. There was a steward about 20 yards away who did nothing about it and it needed a couple of people standing near them to try to get them to shut up. Regarding the stewarding tonight, most of them seemed to be in their late teens, early twenties and not really doing much. None of them seemed savvy enough to see that the group of Curzon fans did not move round in the 1st half, and think it would maybe be a good idea to have a couple of stewards stood in the Popular Side to keep an eye on things. If they had done that, maybe one of the Curzon flags wouldn't have been nicked. As I was leaving the ground, stewards were trying to get one of the scrotes to open his rucksack to see if the flag was in there, which made me  wonder why the club even allows people to bring rucksacks into the ground, especially when they are barely searched, if at all.
In general this season, there have been a couple of games, Chesterfield in particular stands out, where a group of scrotes were goading some Chesterfield fans at the fences in the Popular Side and chucking plastic bottles at them, with no response from the stewards. Outside the ground also there have been games where groups of lads have been hanging around at the corner of Golf Road, seemingly waiting to see if anything kicks off with away fans walking past them. I've not seen any trouble, but it is maybe something that the club needs to keep an eye on. It kicked off outside the away end v Halifax last season, so I presume there will be a police presence on Boxing Day, but also hopefully the stewards will be a bit more clued up as to what is going on at the ground generally. Rant over!

Altrincham FC First Team / 2021/2022 Financial Results
« on: November 30, 2022, 01:25:08 PM »
I'm guessing these will appear in alot more detail on the website, but the brief details from the just released  Financial Results, ending 31/05/2022, were that the club made a loss of £192k last season, compared to a profit of £87k the previous season. Better news though for how much cash Alty have in the bank, this rose from £483k at the end of the 2020/2021 season, to £535k at the end of last season.

Altrincham FC First Team / Nice Touch

I received a Christmas card from the club, which I presume is being sent to all the season card holders. Thought that was a nice touch from the club. Cheers.

Altrincham FC First Team / 2021/22 Season Ticket Discount
« on: May 31, 2021, 10:52:20 AM »
2020/21 Season ticket holders received an email yesterday, advising that there would be a 10% reduction  on the price of a season ticket for next season.
An email was sent out on 9th March where it was stated the club would be offering a substantial discount on the cost of a season ticket for next season, for anyone who had bought one for this season. The club wouldn't have known, at that point, how many games fans would be able to attend before the end of this season, and we were fortunate to see three, but have to be honest I was expecting more than 10%. Any thoughts from other season ticket holders?

Altrincham FC First Team / Tom Sawyer
« on: March 08, 2020, 12:40:08 AM »
After watching a great Alty performance, in convincingly beating a decent team like Spennymoor, I must congratulate whoever picks the post match music. To hear Tom Sawyer by Rush whilst departing the Golf Road, was an unexpected bonus.

Altrincham FC First Team / Telford Game 17/12
« on: December 14, 2019, 01:33:47 PM »
Noticed Telford's FAT match v Leamington has been postponed today and rearranged for this Tuesday as per their Twitter account, meaning our match with them on Tuesday will have to be rearranged again.

Altrincham FC First Team / Some Alty Fans at Curzon
« on: April 15, 2017, 12:21:29 AM »
I'd be interested to hear from anyone who was at the Curzon game about the behaviour of a few Alty fans, in particular to those who gave abuse to Clayton McDonald. Now he obviously had a poor game but to hear a group of beered up Alty fans giving him aload of abuse and chanting for him to be replaced by Sam Heathcote was just embarrassing and pathetic. Matt Doherty must have thought he had no choice but to take him off shortly after. This same group then proceeded to make foul mouthed anti Rowley chants, personally I think Rowley should go, but this sort of abuse is again embarrassing. If ever there was a reason not to allow drinking on the terraces next season it was this sort of behaviour from this group of Alty Fans. We need more support than ever next season and this sort of behaviour will cost the club support by putting people off. To this group you should take a long look at yourselves, you aren't funny, you can't take your beer and why not dont embarrass the club, the team on the pitch have done enough of that already this season.

Altrincham FC First Team / Possible Cause for Concern?
« on: July 17, 2016, 09:49:26 PM »
Wonder if anyone else noticed that the group of scrotes who appeared at home games during the 2nd half of last season, were back again yesterday?
These were allegedly, amongst the Alty fans who clashed with some Chester fans outside the ground after the match last season.  They were allegedly also amongst the group of about 25 lads who were hanging around outside the ground after the Southport match last Easter Monday. They were hoping to kick off with the Southport fans though fortunately nothing seemed to happen in the end.
Not sure how aware the club are but for the first time i can remember the club have got a group of fans who potentially are looking for trouble at certain games. Certainly with games against teams with decent away support, you wonder how things will pan out this season in terms of the behaviour with this group of lads.
