Some years ago at Aldershot I think it was Richard Acton in goal, every time we got a goal kick he moved it to the other corner of the box. Drove the home support mad!

Last season Woking and Bromley were £20, Halifax might have even been £21. A quick search shows SC**thorpe are charging £22 early bird and £25 on the day. Unfortunately it is what it costs at this level where admission is not subsidised by TV. The club need to cover costs I donít think itís too bad for this level.
Harold I think it might be £15 for pensioners.

After being told everyday the countdown to the pre season etc, I find it strange that the website has no news of todays games or teams etc.

If it wasnít for the folk on the forum no information would be forthcoming on todays fixtures.

Pre season rant over.

A report on both games on the Alty Files site.

I would say though that it would be worth making a recording of the ever informative (apart from on a few of those trialists!) Radio Robins commentary available online, if indeed this hasn't already been done.

Speaking of trialists, the West supporters had a song for one of their trialists (there was singing at all three NWCL friendlies I've seen this preseason) - and a song about celery!

How do access these Alty files then
. Use a link or just Google,itís a website. John Laidlars old one.

It was the Isthmian league sometime in the mid 90s, I saw a couple of games. It was a farce, teams played for the line and on getting a kick in, they had to tell the referee of the intention. The game then stopped while everyone piled into the box. Terrible idea.

Fred Eyre, in his book Kicked into Touch, mentions Tony Broadhead as an Oswestry player. Tony apparently said to him ďWe get stuck in hereĒ.
That was certainly an apt description of his playing style as I recall it.

Dorking is a very appealing town with lots of decent pubs too. So much nicer than Ebbsfleet.

Dunham do an Alty Ale.

Donít think our beers come from Thwaites Steve, their beers are mainly brewed by Marstons these days.

Cheshire County League

Altrincham 4  Witton Albion 3

I believe I have the programme from that game somewhere.

Hypothetically speaking, say we had a game called off maybe at Notts County, if we asked our coach drivers to divert to Macc so we could misbehave do you think they would? Who organises their travel?

Whitby Town away circa 1999. Didn't warm up properly until Monday...

Was that the game where someone was despatched to get Leroy Chambers a pair of tights?

Blyth in the FA Cup on a bitterly cold January day a few years back. We travelled up to ML from Shrewsbury and got on the fans coach. Bloody freezing afternoon.

Closely followed by Southend  a couple of weeks ago. I was still shivering and  I was in Bowdon before I started to warm up

I might have to rethink this, I went to a game at Blyth, the year escapes me, there was about 5" of snow in Newcastle but nothing on the coast but was it cold! In fact I remember the Alty fans behind the goal singing "It's Very Cold....Very Very Very Cold......"
I didn't think Ryhope was all that bad but the girl I took along seemed to think it was, she whinged non-stop for two hours. Never pleased are they?
