They will be particularly vulnerable during the last 20 minutes also, but an early goal will help immensely.

Regarding the earlier posting of trouble outside the ground, my foster daughter who is 11 showed me a video she had found of an Altrincham fan being beaten up and kicked by about 10 Gateshead fans, he was curled up on the floor. She deleted it in disgust but was upset as it was one of our supporters being beaten. I have asked her today if she still had it as I wanted to send it to the club, and get them to tackle Gateshead about it and identify some of their fans. However, she did say she had deleted it and it only appeared momentarily, but she did show it to me. It was actually outside the main front door of the main stand.

My biggest worry after the season ends, playoffs or not, is keeping the players we currently have. CCC springs to mind, especially with Chesterfield now being promoted. Is he under contract for next season too? I hope that is he does go, it takes a massive amount of money to prise him away.

Thoughts?

To be honest, if we do finish in the playoff spots at the end of the season, I quite fancy us to do well.

Phil and most of the team have a fair bit of experience in the playoffs but we just have to finish in the top 7, That will be harder than dealing with the playoff matches I think.

I think the 6-1 victory will help immensly to bring the crowds back, follow up with an away win or at least a draw with BoringWood and then crowds will be back for Gateshead. I just want us to be in any playoff position now, even if it has to be 7th place. We are capable of a decent final position. After some of our recent results, we have found we can lose fans as easy as we can gain them, the club are acting on it.

Possibly because of their poor home record. A win on Saturday and next Tuesday v Dorking will put us right back in the mix.

For a maximum of 1 month I assume and hope, we're going to need him for the run-in.

It's also nice to see the club get back it's ambition that it had during the late 70's and early 80's. I for one experienced the positivity of the club both then and now. It has been a long time coming, but everything about the club now is positive and Phil is right to capitalise on it.

If we get promoted - and I mean IF - we need the fan infastructure for the division 2. We are capable of getting more than we currently have attending and the fanbase will increase anyway. We are more than capable of 4000+ crowds in division 2, but all Phil is doing is encouraging a rallying call with the fans, I think he is right. It is a good time to do so as we face the run-in. The pressure is not on us as we have more than achieved what we set out to do, the pressure is on the teams such as Oldham who are expected to do well. The club have never tasted league football and I for one, did not expect this during my lifetime, but here we are again. With a superb management, board, investors and a squad capable of achieving what a few years ago would have been a pipedream.

We should support and believe in them, not believe it is beyond our realms. We are already behind the club, but let's all join in the push for something that with past disappointments we are very capable of achieving.

Well said Phil!!

Despite the fact that Phil Parkinson keeps reminding us not to get ahead of ourselves, the team seem to think otherwise and he is failing to hold back the flood of optimism we are all feeling. We all know with an injury it could all fall apart, but let's all enjoy the anticipation of the next game. On our day, we can seriously win the playoffs and beat any competing team. Just try and finish 2nd Phil and Neil, the team will do the rest. The pressure isn't on us, its on the other teams who expect to be there or thereabouts.

My only worry is will the ground be acceptable to the league, and will we get any adaptions done to meet the requirements. I would hate us to get rejected by the league once again if we win the playoffs. We have been told that the club should be prepared for any eventuality.

Bear in mind though, that Matt kept a clean sheet against a top 5 side last weekend. Eastleigh are no mugs either.

Would like to see Justin Donawa start appearing as sub soon, but the current playing squad is so strong that he seems to be having difficulty getting back in. That's a shame because when he has played, he's done pretty well for us. Still feel he deserves to be with us next season, but not sure how long before he decides to move on. However I do think there may still be goals in him.
