Altrincham FC First Team / Tonight's match charity
« on: March 22, 2022, 05:10:30 PM »
Hi all,

Just to advise, tonight's charity for the Chesterfield game is Down Syndrome Cheshire.

https://dscheshire.org.uk/

Timing perfectly into yesterday's World Down Syndrome day.

I'm sure many alty fans know someone affected by Down Syndrome, & they help local families in the Cheshire area,
so if you know someone who might not be getting the support, please make yourself known to one of the collectors tonight.

They will have bucket collectors for any loose change you might be able to spare, but for those that don't
have any change, don't feel left out , as they'll have a couple of card readers to accept card or phone (wallet) donation payments.
Minimum of £1 for a card payment.

All the best.

What's wrong with a lunch time kick off, everyone can get there AND get home.

7.30pm is simply a joke

Great to know the club has these

I know a lady near Warrington who works in a business that rents out Defibrillators.

So saving time & the need to raising thousands of pounds up front to buy one outright.

Happy to pass on her details should that be of benefit to anyone.

I was thinking maybe it had got called off earlier

I have seen us lose to Matlock before a long time ago I admit but it has happened

more acceptable to lose to them back in the late 70's,
both sides were among the best outside the football league

Amazing days to be an Alty fan in the late 70s and early 80s. I think many of us thought it would never end.

All ended after Noel White was Chairman no more

I was at that Spurs game aswell, took till about 5am for the train to get back aswell, no school for me the next morning.

I remember walking to the ground from the station & my dad telling me to hide the scarf but that was 70's football fans for you

« on: August 08, 2017, 04:40:14 PM »
I remember a few years ago, probably mid 80's we had a Cheshire Senior Cup game on a Saturday sometime in December if I remember rightly, whilst at the time
we were competing highly in the top flight of non league, yet the Cheshire Cup game took precedent ahead of an APL game.

I can understand the National FA Cup / Trophy takes priority, but not a localised minor county cup competition.

Once again, the Cheshire FA think they are the gods of the footballing world.
