Altrincham FC First Team / Josh Ginnelly
« on: January 12, 2025, 07:16:08 PM »
Those of us who remember Josh's loan spell, which was marked by his willingness to do his best for the team, will be glad to learn that, after 16 months on the sidelines with a muscle injury, he was a late substitute for Swansea City at Southampton this afternoon.

Bromley sign Kabamba from Barnet.

Phew.

Don't know why they needed him when they've already got super Marcus.

Super Marcus was injured in their 1-1 home draw with MK Dons on September 28th and hasn't been in a match day squad since. I can't find any details of his injury (we're apparently not the only club observing the Official Secrets Act with regard to fitness issues) but an absence of over 3 months suggests it's a serious issue.

They seem to be in a better run of form lately - they would have expected to win both Cup games in their current 9 match unbeaten run, but in the league they've drawn 5, and the only 2 wins were by 1-0 against strugglers Ebbsfleet and Maidenhead.

We need to keep Paul McCallum quiet (scored two on Saturday) but we should be capable of progressing.

....Or Sittingbourne, albeit I expect we would know little about them considering their location in Kent

Sittingbourne are 2nd in Isthmian League Division 1 South East. Granted it's a much lower standard, but they've only lost 1 game all season, they average over 3 goals a game, and have only conceded 16 goals in 23 games. Banana skin with a fluorescent 8 foot tall B!!!! Gainsborough stuffed Boston 0-4 on their own ground, and I watched them on TV giving Harrogate a difficult time. There are NO easy options from here on, but provided it's at home I wouldn't be averse to Spennymoor.

I might have missed it, but have we appealed the Kossy red card?

Why would we? Sheer idiocy and lack of control.

Provided we do get this drier forehe weekend, Barnet shouldn't be an issue.

There?s no chance Barnet start with a full team on Saturday. If we are on it then we?ll beat them. No doubt at all.

Let's look at it - it's only 4 miles down the road to Wembley Stadium from Barnet's ground. Their fans ain't looking for a big day out like we are. They need to concentrate on the league after only taking 3 points from their last 3 matches. They'll definitely have their eyes on the bigger prize. We need to go for the jugular, whether they weaken their team or not - and I agree that they more than likely will.

I've only been to the Crown Oil Arena once - it was the Good Friday afternoon 2018 when we were playing at Stockport in the evening, and they drew 0-0 at home to Southend. Of course they were both at the heady heights of League One just 8 seasons ago....

Home festive fixture, still deems lots of injuries so my team barring more would be

             Ross

Banks Olson   Baines Golden

      Wilson  Crawford

Weaver    Newby   Kosylo

         Linney

Agree with this, maybe James Jones for Olson.

Would love to see that front 4. Has Parky got the bottle?.? Not sure.

I'm pretty sure he hasn't, so Osborne for Weaver.

Ray was a lovely guy, and one of our most dedicated supporters.

I remember standing with him at Worcester City for an FA Trophy game, where Duncan Watmore produced an astounding run down the right before crossing the ball to Simon Richman who literally couldn't miss.

We turned to each other and simultaneously said "What a piece of skill!" I will cherish that memory.

RIP Ray, you will be sadly missed by all of us who were privileged to know you.

I've lost count of how many times we've faced a club who've just sacked their manager - maybe it's the prospect of facing the Mighty Robins that drives the Board of our next opponents into a blind panic.

So I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that Woking have joined that list a week before we travel to Surrey.

Scored again today - which means he's Cup tied in the FA Trophy, suggesting that there are no plans to involve him in the foreseeable.

As well as we played, we should note that Lucy Letby had a better defence than Fylde. I'm not sure that a two week break is what we really need right now.

Isn't that the normal ko time?😁

It's usually about 1503. It's never 1500.

Unfortunately Ryan is up before the beak again.

What has he  allegedly done this time for goodness sake?

GBH apparently.

If he's found guilty I can see Chesterfield being a winger short for some time.

It was my late father's contention that no professional footballer should EVER fail to score a penalty. A bit optimistic perhaps, but I'd certainly expect better than a 25% success rate.
