My passenger got in at Birmingham airport on Saturday night and proceeded to tell me how he followed Altrincham football club "oh good man good man" I replied and a jolly nice chat ensued.
He found Alty a nice little family club where he was able to take his two young children cheaply and without hearing swearing (he sat in the family stand)...he liked the way you were close to the players and that they could hear your shouts of encouragement and often acknowledged them....he's a regualr yankee purchaser and the way the club treated him made him want to give something back......he thinks it's a good standard of football but it's good to see local lads playing part time against well paid full timers and competing.
sadly he has moved to near Nantwich but still comes whenver he can.
Just an interesting story about how people get pulled into the alty family and what we do right etc.

Thats a great wee story. It is brilliant that - as I've always said, Alty is more than a football club. It is a family with ever open doors to new friends (as long as they pay!)
This has come accross when we've been in the media, for instance when Mark Pougatch was at the fround for the Milwall FA Cup match and commented about GH bringing him a cup o' tea
