Title: O'Neill the GOAL MACHINE
Post by: Jenga on January 09, 2007, 09:04:32 AM
Ok, come on, time for all you folks to eat humble pie, or is it?

Joe, in my opinion, has been absolutely brilliant in the past few months, he has his confidence, and he is has scored 5 - yippy.

So is his drought over, is he still as poor as people said, is he is a class above the rest or is simply just not good enough.

100 % committed (Runs for every second that he's on the pitch), can hold the ball up and now scores goals.

A VERY good signing as far as I'm concerned.

Have you been doing your own karma again Mr W?

Whilst I was impressed with Joe against Rushden, I still don't think he's going to be a goal machine. I was pleased that finally in this game he actually tried to shoot first time, rather than dither and take too long, which usually meant he would lose the ball. Hopefully these 2 goals will give him the confidence to have a go and just strike the bloody thing  :)

No I have not and have never done such a thing. (I have somehow gained 5 'peakes' though)

We had a 'Karma' afternoon last week and anyone on line was passing on 'Goodwins'

When Joe gets the ball at the edge of the area you don't think to yourself that there is a goal coming. He just doens't look like he will score many goals with his feet. However, his headed goal on Saturday was so good, that it makes you wonder that with a few extra decent crosses, he might score quite a few goals. Robbie's cross was excellent and so was the header. Perhaps we've done Joe a disservice all along and all he needs is a half decent winger. Thoughts?

Very impressed with his work-rate, although Im not convinced he is an out and out goalscorer.

TOTALLY AGREE  CONFIDENCE IS THE KEY WITH HIM. NEVER KNOW A STRIKER SCARED OF HAVIN A 'POP' AT GOAL LIKE JOE. Keep up the effort Joe  ;)
