Title: Saturday's Team
Post by: robininstockport on December 28, 2006, 05:20:10 PM
Assuming Little is out this would be my 11 for Sat

Coburn
Aspinall
Munro
Rose
Scott
Lawton
Bushall
Chalmers
Peyton
Thornley
O'Neill

If the crowd and team are 75% pumped up as Monday then I predict 2-0 (Bushall, Thornley) and a gate of 1.300

Good squad,

I would be tempted to put peyton at left back to start and try Pat or Peter up front with Joe!!

If fit I would play Rose otherwise Band.

We can keep to an attacking 4-4-2

Sorry Val!  ;D

Take on board harsh leving Band out, but I feel Munro/Rose is the best partnership

If we do need a goal then yes Peyton left back and Mcfadded on (with his pace he could well do some damage)

We really need to get behind them (just like Monday) three points are all important aswell as fo the karma element.

Agree we need the best defence with Munroe/Rose

I just feel we should attack from the off as Monday!!

A massive game which if we get behind the team I am sure we can win!!

Sure Gh will pick a winner again

As great as Boxing Day was, this is a big one. While we just wanted to beat Vics,we want and need to beat CPFGR.A 6 point gap to open up,to put ourselves level with Halifax going into Mondays game, and to put us onto 28pts out of 24 games.

As for the team,I think we might have to revert back to 4-4-2 for now.I have a feeling Val will be drafted in though not 100% fit, with the bench remaining the same as Tuesday.

Fully agree we must win, Halifax will be tough on Monday, only two days rest. GH may have to rotate a couple of players?

I must say I thought we played 4-4-2 on saturday. or 4-4-1 after Colin sent off!!

I would like to see same starting 10 plus Pat or Peter?

No Acton Dave??   :o :o

It's going to be tough. I thought Rod played well on the wing, do we leave him there or put him along side Joe? I'd ask if it's time for Bowler to play but that is just crazy talk!

Dan, I knew you were going to say that. Stuart did ok on Tuesday, I would keep him in.

I would play Rod out wide and go for it with Pat and Joe.

I do not think Justin has the pedigree, I would play him on Monday and put him under some pressure!! see what he does against his old club?

Rod has been playing great on the wing, so I'd keep him there too. It was good against Vics that we had someone wide who could take people on and get in the box :) He's finding a bit of form too with 2 in 2 games (albeit one in the abandoned game) :)

one thing that hasn't been mentioned is that that wasour first win witout stu conceeding in like forever! so stu to stay 4 sure rod out wide and peter and pat a half each, that is if lee hendley i injured still otherwise lee to start for sure his pace is scary!

Had to be done - nice to know Stu keeps his place with you this week!

I would not bother playing Bowler on Monday, if we keep playing well there is no room in the side for him.

First, hello to everyone on the forum.
I'm really looking forward to the Forest Green game after the 'miracle  on Boxing Day' - awesome!
I'd pretty well go with Robisnstockport's choice of 11, but agree with Alty Dave that Thornley out wide might not be a bad idea.
How come there are few takers for Thompson up front? He looks the part, and I think we miss having a decent target man. Only seen him when he came on against Kidderminster (I think!) and thought he did OK.
Just seems to me we lack a target man who can rough up the oppostion. Is Thompson the man?

im gonna say with colin out then maybe we should try joe and lee upfront. joe is good at holding the ball up and if he has someone with lee's pace running off him it could work. but that just my opinion

I thought we played 4-3-3 on Monday (prior to Colin being sent off) and I got the impression we had that line-up at Tamworth. As we haven't got a natural winger I think its the best formation for us and allows Robbie to get more central. Would keep with same for tomorrow so guess Pat has to start in Colin's place.

I fully agree we should start as we did on Tuesday, lets hope we do and add another forward to the attack!!

Agree with a few others here that Rodders played great when wide and that extra option of going past people was a joy to see.
My team pick would be the same side who started gainst the green gets yellow snot with Pat up front.

Come on you Super Robins - let's hope it's another three fantastic points for us today!
