Title: BBC team news for tomorrow plus link to live commentary
Post by: Darren on August 15, 2008, 08:59:44 PM
Altrincham v Kettering
Midfielder Val Owen (knee) is the only definite absentee for Altrincham's home clash with Kettering.

Boss Graham Heathcote could opt to bring in defender Richard Battersby while new signings Anthony Danylyk and Lee Elam could make their first starts.

Defender Nicky Eaden is available after appendicitis as Kettering look to build on their unbeaten start.

Nathan Smith misses out with a foot injury while Chris Beardsley challenges Jean-Paul Marna for a place up front.

Oh dear, I've just copied and pasted that same information off the same site- but in the midfield re- jig thread.

Is there no local radio station that will broadcast the match? We were there on Tuesday night but can't come tomorrow because of a  family occasion. We would like to be able to listen as we are driving there!

what end are we kicking into ?
Commentator says we are coming into the game now - we've had the better possession since going down after 4mis penalty

"what end are we kicking into ?"

God knows - commentator seems to be prattling on about everything but the actual match

seems Coburn is at the Golf Road end so we must be kicking towards the Chequers end

We'll take it but sounded like it could have gone either way.   Hard to tell from their commentary but it sounded as though we were on top for most of the second half.  Be interesting to know from those at the game if this was the case.   Good chance for Elam, great double save from their keeper so with a bit more luck we might have had all 3 points.  Just gets tougher from here though doesn't it? :P :P :P

Apparently we didn't play well at all - two poor teams.

That said, playing crap and coming back from behind is more than we did last season. Another point closer to safety, but we do need the home form to pick up.

we were not great, neither were they. the defense looked a little better after tuesday night but there is still some room for improvement,
there defense were very good, apart from the fact that they were fouling c*nts, they beat us to pretty much everything.

fair result.

We created more chances without playing well. To be fair there keeper made a great double save. We played the ball long to often with the size of there centre halfs. Chris Denhams work rate was phenominal and his overall play was very good. To be honest Matt Doughty was poor defensively and his passing at times wasnt the best but he did offer good support to Peyton and Elam. Also im not suprised that we played quite defensively after conceding 4 on tuesday and to be fair i thought we did defend well. Lets hope we can mix the attacking football on Tuesday and solid defending together.

Pleased with a point in the end, however we were very flat and peytons inspired substitution gave us a lift. I for one would start danylyk over street.

We had enough chaces to have won the game though. For full timers kettering were very workman like without being inspiring. Up to 10th though!! ;D

I agree, Danylyk to start over Street for me, he breaks up the play more, which is crucial when we have wingers like Elam and Denham now who like to bomb forward.
