bloody hell im shattered after that game we made bloody hard work of it 2day but a welcome 3 points bring on crawley 3 more points i hope think cahill should start .we missed seniors pace up front 2day :P

Very hard to sum that game up really. Given that FGR did not have a single shot on target all afternoon, you'd have to say that we deserved the win. A big factor behind the FGR bluntness was us playing Laney in front of the centre halves - a good move by GH after Tuesday. Liam King was my man of the match - everything we did that was good came through him. I have to say that something was missing going forward. Not sure if it was Cahill's muscle or Senior's pace, but something was defo missing. Both sendings off were 100% correct. Did anyone else think FGR just weren't up for it today? Good win Alty and roll on Tuesday.

I agree there FGR didnt really seem up for it. Id heard so much about Fleetwood but failed to be impressed by him. Laney was excellent in front of the back four,
We seemed more of a threat with Cahill and Roca on. Maybe start with them on Tuesday night?

I think praise is due today...people can say that we should have won easily against nine men, but, as said before, its not at all that simple. Especially against a side like Forest Green who can clearly keep possession and have a fast, dangerous striker on the counter attack.
I thought the tactics were spot on today, although early in the game I was angry that Little was up-front by himself and Joe was chosen ahead of Cahill, we clearly had a plan to cut up their passing game and retain possession and I thought we did it perfectly. Unfortunately, it got quite frustrating as every ball that got played into Little came back at us and I thought we cancelled each other out. Then, late in the game it can be really hard to score if you throw everything at a team with 9 men, but we were patient and got what we deserved.
It was also really pleasing to see them have so few shots on goal, even when they had 11 men, and get a vital clean sheet!

Remind me how many shots Altrincham had on goal.

Between six & eight I think.

3 valuable points in the bag, whilst the formation stopped them attacking 4-1 for Col was hard work. Unlucky to score when through (twice) and I thought he played well.
4-4-2 would have been better, although I am still not convinced by Cahill, Senior was missed up front with Colin, and Roca has potential.
Great attitude from the team today, they must be shattered.
Come on Alty bring on Crawley

Alty FGR
Shots on target
1 0
Shots off target
10 7

17 shots off target? Gee, my memory must be going!
-
Hamilton, those figures are incorrect, off the BBC by any chance?
-
You bet.
Alas, incorrect & BBC are synonimous!
Sporting Life:
Alty FGR
3 Shots On Target 5
6 Shots Off Target 6

I am still not convinced by Cahill
Still better than O'Neill though and I didn't think we looked as dangerous until he came on. I didn't have a problem with O'Neill starting ahead of Cahill today when I realised where he was playing but no way should O'Neill be ahead of him in the pecking order when it comes to playing up front.
-
As a striker I would agree Cahill before O'Neill.
O'Neill before Owen?
-
I would love to see Cahill start against Crawley as I rate him higher than O'Niell and whenever I've seen him at home he's looked impressive to me (particularly against York before he was injured and when he came on against Kiddy). I would personally play 4-4-2:
Coburn
Lane
Tinson
Shotton
Young
Toulson
Lawton
King
Peyton
Cahill
Little

Was the reporter in the NLP from FG.
They didn't have a shot on target, and gave Fleetwood a 7!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Moss Lane Man. Whenever Cahill plays he really impresses me, he's strong and good ont eh ball. I would start him in front of O'Neill. I would play Senior on the wing as he's quick, skillful and got bags of energy so he could get up and down the wing all day.
I would play
Coburn
Lane
Tinson
Shotton
Young
Toulson/senior
Lawton
King
Peyton/senior
Cahill
Little
