as soon as they say "the 5 man midfield is working for Altrincham" they go and score.  Glimer of hope snuffed out instantly.

Come on Alty - give us something to cheer

Said I'd judge after 10 games ....

does that mean you may say what you think the answer may be in your opinion at the end of tonights game ?
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: gazwarrington on September 18, 2007, 08:16:05 PM
YES I CERTAINLY WILL !!!!

Sorry but I am the most realistic man you'll ever meet at Alty ... Stick up for this club all the time but ...

I don't have high expectations but I expect us to COMPETE !

Woking was a disgrace as have some other games .. I honestly believe that we have the players

At the end of the game on Satdee I honestly felt the same as I did when we got relegated. Woking were woeful and we couldn't muster a proper shot and thats not just the only game.

Bottom four all losing again already, looks like theres not going to be much of a relegation battle this season...

We'll just get cut adrift. simple as.

Well Gary,
A friend of mine who is a City fan but gets to 5 or 6 Alty games a season talked to me after the Oxford game full of hope for Alty.   He said they were definitely better than last season and should have beaten Oxford, not sure what has happened since then though....its a bitter struggle in every game at the moment and you know Saturday will be the same.

Battle for the reprieve spot?

We need to stay in touch as some teams will fall apart later in the season - Farsley may do a St Albans who started well last year but tired badly in their first season in a full time league
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: hsmith1 on September 18, 2007, 08:25:50 PM
if we get 1 before half time then we can give it a go 2nd half

On a brighter note (pun intended) how are the new floodlights?!

We seem to play slightly worse than the opposition in every game.  If we'd played like we did against Oxford against Grays / Woking we'd have been OK

Maybe thats the problem, played "better" but what was the score ?  I can talk about "Performances" but they don;t get you points. We go into every game wanting a draw... We are not good enough to do defend like that.

I would not want a reprieve this season so be honest. About time we started doing it on the pitch rather than embarrassing ourselves.

Plus tonight we play the only "Forward" that we have that isn't there to score goals upfront on his own ...

Senior and Colin on

Sedge and Joe off

sounds like a 4-4-2. Earlier changes than normal (by about 30mins? ;))

Yet again we are waiting until we are 2, or now 3 goals down until we make changes.
Surely there must be a lesson to be learnt after this many games.

I know I'm listening to their commentators but it still sounds like it is all them.......only a matter of time to 0-4 by the sounds of it :(
Title: Re: tonights team

and after speaking to people at the match it'll be fully deserved. PATHETIC !
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: hsmith1 on September 18, 2007, 09:12:19 PM
Yet from the BBc we have had 9 shots to their 4
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: Bath Alty on September 18, 2007, 09:12:25 PM
It doesn't help that they can't identify any of our players so you never here our names.  The only way you can tell which team has the ball is that if they don't mention names it's us.

They're even moaning about the floodlights!

Clancy on for Warren - why?
Title: Re: tonights team

the way the comentators slag of our ground you would think that Cambridge actually had a good one ...

8 shots off target though

These commentators are the worst I've heard - not the most annoying but certainly the least informative
Title: Re: tonights team

did not want to mention that timperley

Bottom 5 all losing - what are York doing down with us?
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: jhcorbett on September 18, 2007, 09:16:50 PM
the commentators earlier even had the cheek to say Moss Lane isn't the most pleasant of surroundings and you can smell manure coming off the allottments.

well, at least you don't have to wade through cow sh*t to get there like at the Abbey.

(pah! if we're gettin beat I might as well have a go at the commentators)

Oh Bollocks to it last time I logged on in the middle we scored so I'll try again, having said that they did too. Worth a shot!

attnd 982

"one of Altrincham's bigger attendences of the season" - surely not
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: DarrenH on September 18, 2007, 09:27:30 PM
Looking at the table the way things are going there isn't even going to be a "relegation battle" to look forward to. The 5 at the bottom are going to be cut adrift.
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: gazwarrington on September 18, 2007, 09:27:57 PM
did 'Stick up' for Alty fans though saying fair play for turning up with what they have to compete with on the doorstep !
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: DarrenH on September 18, 2007, 09:29:38 PM
Yeah agree that 982 isn't bad mid week but the numbers are going to drop pretty quickly the way things are going.
Thats when budgets have to be cut back due to lack of money and the situation gets worse.
Not sure what the answer is !!
Title: Re: tonights team

982 woking losing 5-2
Title: Re: tonights team

Cambridge brought 180 - 200 according to people at the game
Title: Re: tonights team

At least Whalley has lasted the distance tonight.
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: Bath Alty on September 18, 2007, 09:31:38 PM
The answer is a good 5-0 stuffing of Droylsden on Saturday starting a run like 5-0 Cambridge did last year.  Oh please oh please

Logan on for 90 minutes as well but can't tell if they are actually doing anything usefull as these muppets can't identify anyone
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: gazwarrington on September 18, 2007, 09:31:48 PM
oh he's playing ????
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: DarrenH on September 18, 2007, 09:32:17 PM
the 200 from Cambridge makes it a little more worrying. Less than 800 home support.
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: DarrenH on September 18, 2007, 09:32:40 PM
Gaz I didn't say he was playing well !!
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: gazwarrington on September 18, 2007, 09:33:17 PM
Isn't that bad when Droylsden and Vics are struggling to get 650 and 700 !

whalley , I could last 90mins and with the teams we are picking at the mo I might just get a chance to try !
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: hsmith1 on September 18, 2007, 09:33:39 PM
Oh well into injury time dont think we will win it now
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: DarrenH on September 18, 2007, 09:34:24 PM
Yeah i can understand that but the numbers are starting to drop away.
Surely a certain amount of our budget is based upon bums on seats ?
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: Bath Alty on September 18, 2007, 09:35:41 PM
Anyone really surprised at that one?  Saturday is a really key game, first home match against a team in the bottom half.

Another BBc game for me as i am on lates but will follow them Lets hope we get that win god we all need it from GH the team down to us

Shaw certainly seems to be finding the net for Halifax !!!!
Shame we can;t find a player like him.
Yet again attempts on goal but very few on target.
Title: Re: tonights team
Post by: Bath Alty on September 18, 2007, 09:54:42 PM
The bottom 5 are drifting away but I think Farsley will join us - they have 11 points but 6 of those have come at home to Northwich and Stafford.  A good 2-1 win at Histon is the only result better than any of ours so far.  I think there is a relegation fight to come and we need to show that we can win that by beating Droylsden on Saturday.
